A smile spreads on my lips as I put my phone back on the charging pad and hurry out of the room.

“Oliver!” I call out, running down the stairs. “Where are you?”

“Still in the kitchen!” his voice reaches me as I run through the corridor.

“There’s something I wanted to ask you,” I say, panting hard and rushing inside the kitchen.

“What’s wrong, Rory?” he says, looking alarmed.

“Did you buy that lily painting for me?”

He’s quiet for a second before realization comes over him. “Oh, from the charity exhibition at Gary’s house?”

I nod. “Yes, that one.”

“Oh, yeah. I remember you liking the painting but you forgot to bid on it. So, I did it on your behalf and gave them your name.” He chuckles loudly. “I’d almost forgotten about it.”

Closing the distance between us, I wrap my arms around him and hug him tightly. “You liked me that much after spending just a few minutes with me?”

“I recognized you as my mate,” he says, kissing me. “When you know, you can’t help the feelings that rise inside you. I became yours since the moment I caught your scent.”

Simon hoots and whistles from the corner while I drown in Oliver’s kiss.

“So, I’m guessing you talked with your dad?” he says, finally breaking away.

“Yeah. I wanted to ask you guys something.”

Seth and Simon come over to me as well.

“What is it, Princess?” Simon asks, pecking my cheek.

“Would you guys be able to get some time off this weekend?” I ask. “Dad’s having his birthday party and would love for us to join him. It’s okay if you can’t clear your schedules. I understand how difficult it is to cancel your duties—”

Oliver pulls me against him and claims my lips before I can pour out all the words in my mind.

“We’ll be there,” he says, his eyes burning with an intensity that makes my heart pound against my chest.

Looking toward Seth and Simon, I see the same intensity burning in their gazes.

A smile blossoms on my lips as they draw closer to wrap their arms around me.

“There’s no way in hell we’ll miss going to a party with you,” says Simon, kissing my neck.

“It’s going to be kind of boring, though. All my dad’s politician friends are going to crowd the place. On a brighter note, there’s going to be lots of food and drinks.”

“We’ll always be there for you,” Seth says, kissing my cheek. “We’re yours, Rory.

“We don’t mind the stiff geezers as long as we can have you all to ourselves,” says Oliver, kissing me.

Warmth and happiness flood me as my mates hug and kiss me. Their presence wipes away all my fear and hesitance. I feel like I’m finally ready to face the world I’d hid from these past weeks.

My eyes widen as I gaze at my reflection in the mirror. Dressed in a silver gown with a silk corset top, I’m hauntingly reminded of the way I used to look once upon a time.

My raven-black locks are fashioned into long waves that spread around my shoulders. I finally broke into the makeup stuff Seth bought me a long time ago and styled my eyes with bold, dramatic strokes. My lips are painted a rich coral, making me look more confident than I feel.
