“Yes, sorry, but you were. You were ordering the slaves around, acting like you were so above them, then Ryan barked at you, and you looked…like you’d be waiting for someone to do that.”
“I was, I guess. I mean…people say that parents discipline their kids because they care. I never got that. So, I guess it was ingrained in me that no one cared enough to do that. On my first day here, I pushed Hud too hard, and he threw me in with the pigs!”
I blinked at him as he sat on my lap. “You liked that? You threatened to have me killed.”
“I was full of mud and…ew, whatever else is in there. I was furious, but the more I thought about it, the more I saw that you did it to teach me a lesson. I learned a lot from them.”
I kissed him tenderly for that. “I’m glad. I could do it again if you like…”
“No! I’m good!”
It was a fun time, and we got nothing accomplished but relaxation. After everything we’d all recently been through, it was needed. Theo smiled more than I’d ever seen him, and Brett finally smiled for real. There had been a cloud in his eyes that reminded me of Theo, but it was gone the moment he knew he could live there, around people he knew.
“You must meet Eli. He’s gorgeous, and I’m not exaggerating. He and his Dom, who is also pretty, are a total hot daddy type; they’re very monogamous. I hit on Eli, but he turned me down, so that’s how I knew.”
Ryan giggled. “Theo…if he wasn’t monogamous, of course, he’d have gone for you.”
“Oh, I know.”
I laughed too but agreed, “He would have, baby, I’m sure of it.”
In the morning, he was dressed before me, which was unusual. Then I found out why. “My new things are coming today. And Brett is going to find a house. We have much to do, and I also have some orders to confirm.”
“Have you spoken to Tucker or Dale about when the meat will be ready?”
“Ew, no! I don’t want to know about that part of it.”
“You are gonna have to learn, babe. I know it sucks, but it’s part of the business.”
“Fine, I’ll ask the short one.”
“Dale. His name is Dale.”
“Right, Deke,” he said, grinning and crawling over me on the bed. “I think I’m healed. You want to fuck before we get going?”
“No. As you said, we’re busy today. Tonight, I’ll murder your ass again.”
“You’re no fun.”
I got serious for a moment and held his face with my hands. “I love you, Theo. Don’t forget that.”
“Why would I forget?”
“I don’t know, when we’re in the middle of…all the kinky shit, sometimes love can get lost.”
He moved my hands from my face and placed his lips lightly on one palm, then the other. “The intimacy of it is what makes it special, Hud. I trusted Ryan and Brett because that was their job, to not only give a wonderful experience but because they were chosen to care for the clients, to…make sure they were okay. I fell a lot more in love with him at that moment. “I do, Theo, and I want you to be nothing except happy and safe.”
“I know that. Now. Maybe I didn’t…you know, before.”
“When I was getting paid. I know. Get ready to get everything, but the delivery men are not your servants. Be kind and polite to them.”
