“I’d promise you the whole damn world if I could.”

His eyes dilate, and I’m tempted to skip the food and the discussion, but it’s too important.

I smooth a hand down his back before spanking him nice and hard. “Let’s eat.”

I lead him through my sparse condo to the kitchen where I spread the food on my breakfast bar.

“What did you order? The whole menu?”

I chuckle. “Figured we’d need the fuel, plus barbecue makes good leftovers.”

“What do you know about barbecue, city boy?”

I cock a brow. “Better watch yourself if you don’t want to spend more time at the end of my paddle rather than my dick. I’ll have you know that Kansas City is home to the best barbecue.”

“Them there are fighting words.” His grin is ear to ear.

I dip a finger into a rich red sauce and glaze it over his bottom lip. “But I’d much rather make love, not war.”

He pounces, the tang and heat of the sauce only accentuating his own flavor.

I moan into his mouth. “You taste so good.”

“Or does Texas barbecue taste good?”

I grasp his ass cheeks, one in each hand before squeezing until he whimpers. “Behave, brat.”

Eventually, we manage to sit down after falling on the couch to make out and dry hump each other until we both ruin our underwear. After a quick shower together, where we only washed, we’re cuddled on my floor in front of my couch as we feed each other smoked meats and a variety of salads.

I offer him a bite of brisket when he waves me away. “Enough, I’m stuffed.”

“Not yet, but give me time.”

He smirks, “I see you’ve got jokes this evening.”

I huff. “I’ve always been funny.”

He rolls his eyes. “Everyone knows you’re the strong, silent type.”

I cuddle him closer. “Not with you.”

He nods. “Yes, I rather enjoy being the only one who knows this side of you.”

“And what if I promised this side would always be for you alone?”

“What do you mean?”

I card my fingers through his drying hair. “I want you to stay.”

He leans in just short of grazing his lips over my cheek. “I said I’d stay all weekend.”

“No, baby. I want you to stay for good.”

He glances around my place like he’s just now seeing it.

“I know it’s not much, but we could make it ours.”

“Beau.” His tone loses all humor, and I sit up straight. “We barely know each other.”
