God, she’s more adorable by the second.

“I thought radio was dead,” I remark wryly.

Harley takes the last strawberry and rolls her eyes. “It is.” I watch her lips wrap around the bulbous fruit, tenderly and carefully before biting through the soft, juicy flesh.

Goddamn, I’d love to know how her lips feel around the head of my cock.

Easy, boy. Kent’s daughter. Off-limits for sure.“Well, I know your father is very proud of you and all you’ve accomplished.”

Her face sours.

“What?”

“Nothing. Just now you’ve invoked my dad and even though he’s outside, he’s…” She twiddles her fingers through the air. “In the room.”

I laugh, “You don’t want him in the room?”

Harley’s lips curl into a sensual smile. “No, I kind of liked it when it was just us.”

My stomach drops. Is she saying what I think she’s saying? WhatdoI even think she’s saying? It doesn’t help that the longer I look at her, the sexier she becomes. Her white, off-the-shoulder shirt falls perfectly over her frame, obscuring her round breasts and dwarfing the curves I know she’s hiding under there. And her little shorts have ridden so far up her thighs I think I might faint.

“After all, it’s been years since we’ve seen each other. Nice to catch up without…distractions,” she says with a little shrug of her shoulder.

Little does she know thatsheis the ultimate distraction. The rest of the party is fading away faster each second. All that I can focus on is Harley.

It must be something primal. Biology is undeniable. But I never felt this way about her before now (thank god). In fact, I’ve never felt this way about any of Kent’s daughters. They’ve all grown into beautiful young women, all of whom are as dear to me as if they were my own family. They’re like the nieces I’ve never had.

And now there’s Harley. And I want nothing more than to throw that proxy niece identifier out the window so I can have her.

Because I want her.

“That’s true,” I finally say with a soft nod. I glance out the kitchen windows into the yard. Everyone is starting to congregate together as the sky darkens, distracted by the thought of fireworks. I inch closer to Harley. No one is worrying about us after all. “You have to catch me up on the kind of woman you’ve become. After all, the last time I saw you, you were–”

“Eighteen,” she cuts me off, tilting her head to the side.

I swallow. “Still. Just a kid really.”

She laughs, looking down at her feet. “Well, trust me…” Then, she returns her gaze to mine, her fiery brown eyes pulsing with intensity. “I’m not a kid anymore.”

My heart pounds in my chest. That’s confirmation. She’s feeling what I’m feeling. Harley is a woman now. A woman who is grown and independent andknows what she wants. From the look in her eyes and the way her body is positioned, squarely with mine, I think she might want me.

No. Iknowshe wants me.

I bite on my lower lip and smile. “I can tell.”

“Can you?”

“Yes.”

She flutters her eyelashes coquettishly. “How?”

Oh, I have a list of things. A list I’m more than willing to divulge, but the moment I open my mouth, the kitchen door flies open and Amy, the youngest Solace girl, enters.

Harley and I bristle apart and turn our attention to Amy.

Lucky for us, Amy is on her own bent. “It’s time for cake,” she grumbles and goes to the fridge.

Amy is usually the bubbliest of the Solace girls, but her brightly-colored overalls can’t make up for the gloom she brings into the kitchen.
