Chapter Nineteen

Moira

––––––––

FINALLY HAVING HOPEfor the future and a true reunion with Jareth has me all but skipping as we leave the park and head back to Aurora's. I still can't quite believe it, but if this works, I'll somehow end up with everything I've ever wanted.

Or at the least the start of it.

I'll have Jareth back and I'll finally be a part of a pack. Lexie will have the childhood I always wished I had.

I try not to get ahead of myself with the reminder this is still an alpha world and they could still have something up their sleeves that Jareth doesn’t know about. Feral alphas are especially dangerous because they are unpredictable and have very few fucks left to give. If they get pissed enough, they could hurt one of us.

Callum answers the door when we knock, waving us through with a smile. "They're still in the library. I haven't been able to get any of them out to eat, so if you're hungry, dinner is almost ready. We'd love to have you."

I haven't interacted with Callum as much since I moved here, but he seems nice enough. "Thanks."

"I've peeked in on them a few times and they seem to be having a blast."

"Anything with books and Lexie is thrilled."

He chuckles. “That's our entire pack. She's welcome anytime."

"Thank you. It was a relief knowing she was safe."

Callum gestures at Hendrix and Ryder. ”They know the way to the library. Make yourselves at home. I need to check on dinner and make sure it hasn't burned. See if you can drag them out of there, please?"

I chuckle. “We'll do our best."

Hendrix leads the way through their lovely house to a door where muffled laughter comes from. He pushes the door open and my jaw drops in awe. I've never seen a home library like this. It's bigger than their living room and it's gorgeous. I could easily live here and I have no idea how I'm going to get Lexie to agree to leave.

"Remind me to add a majestic home library to my place,” Ryder murmurs.

I snort. “Will do. I'm making the same mental note when we finally have the space."

There are stacks after stacks, setting up a kind of maze, like a real library, instead of shelves shoved against the four walls. I want to come back and spend hours exploring in here.

"You can always come visit mine once I get it set up."
