The alphas puff up, but they know they're beat. One after the other, they sign the paperwork and pass it back to Enzo.

The three of us rise together as Enzo handles the closing pleasantries. "Thank you. I'm glad we were able to finally understand one another."

The female alpha gets in one last threat, a nasty smile on her face. “As I'm sure you're aware, this courtship has six months and then it needs to be finalized with a bond. If not, Mr. Clark, you'll be heading right back into the program."

Jareth doesn't bother replying. None of us do. Instead we file silently from the room, not speaking until we're well out of earshot.

Enzo blows out an irritated breath once we’re outside on the sidewalk. “Well, that went about as well as I expected it to. Now, you two need to keep your heads down, because I can guarantee they're making a call to your former alphas right now, letting them know what's going on. Stay safe and I'll check in on you later."

I nod. “I’m going to have Ryder bring Lexie back to the studio, she'll be safer with him since they don't know what she looks like yet."

"Expect them to file for custody within the next couple days,” Enzo warns. “And if they do, that's a good thing. Better they try things the legal way than attack any of you."

"We'll be careful."

"Good. I'll get my defense prepped and ready to go." He shoves the papers in his bag.

I squeeze his arm. “Thank you, Enzo. You were amazing in there."

He laughs. “I had a great time. Those two already hate me, but they haven't won against me yet, and they won't have any say over the custody situation since there are no omegas involved."

I blow out a sigh of relief. “Good to know."

"Now get out of here. Celebrate. Enjoy your reconciliation. Just keep things locked up and the cameras running in case they rage gets the better of them." Enzo shoos us away.

"Will do." I grab Jareth’s hand and drag him in the opposite direction, back towards my place before pausing. "Wait. Where are your things?"

He snickers, relief making him giddy. “I might have packed and taken everything over to the Omega Center and asked them to keep an eye on them for me. I can go grab it later. I think we do need to get off the streets."

"That we do. You aren't going to need clothes anytime soon anyway.”
