“Speak for yourself, I’m parched.”

Fucking hell.I follow Skyler to the bar, and of course he makes a beeline for Tanner, making no effort to be discrete as he accidentally-on purpose bumps into his shoulder.

“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Skyler gushes, reaching out a hand to steady himself. Arranging his features into a mask of surprised recognition, he flashes his attention back to me. “Oh my god, Deacon. Isn’t this the parent you have a massive crush on?”

My face flames as mortification rushes through me. I send Skyler a hard glare but he just smirks back at me and stalks away, heading for the other side of the bar.

“I’m so sorry, he’s not usually allowed out in polite society. It’s all gone to his head.”

Tanner lets out a wry chuckle. “Nothing to apologize for.”

Damn, why are his eyes so god damned blue? It’s like they have magic powers or something; it’s pretty much impossible to tear my gaze away.

“Just so you know, you really shouldn’t take anything he says seriously. He’s a pathological liar.”

Tanner arches a brow at me, his lips quirking with amusement. “So you don’t have amassivecrush on me.”

Fuck, my face is so red right now. “I never saidmassive,”I confess.

“Ahh, so just a little crush then?”

I bite my lip in hesitation. Why am I even considering answering this? “That would be…inappropriate.”

“That’s not a no,” he says, amusement dancing in his eyes.

Damnit. I need a drink. I needsomethingto focus on other than his beautiful, mesmerizing face before I say or do something even more mortifying.

I order a whiskey and tap my fingers on the bar for a moment, wondering if I should just politely extricate myself from this conversation once my drink arrives and then pretend I never saw my student’s dad at a gay bar.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tell,” he teases.

“Huh?” I glance up at him, my brows furrowed in confusion.

“About your inappropriate crush.”

“Oh…right.” I let out an awkward chuckle. Fuck, when the hell did I turn into this bag of nerves? “Thanks.”

“And I’d appreciate if you didn’t mention my presence here to anyone…” he says, one eyebrow raised pointedly.

I shake my head. “I don’t need a quid pro quo if that’s what you’re getting at. I’d never out someone.”

He looks visibly relieved as he nods and takes a sip of his drink.

My whiskey arrives and I take a generous gulp, feeling the burn all the way down my throat. Shit, I really need to calm down. This situation doesn’t warrant such a major freak out.

“You must think I’m such a coward,” Tanner says wryly. “Being so worried about what people might think of me.”

The stool to my left opens up so I claim it and make myself comfortable, figuring the window to exit the conversation has closed.

“I don’t think that,” I assure him. “It’s everyone’s own personal decision when—or even if—to come out. And I can imagine things would be complicated for you, with kids and your business and everything.”

He lets out a rueful laugh. “You could say that. But, to be honest, I’m not even sure how I identify.” He swings around on his stool and pins me with a an intense look. “How is someone supposed to identify when they’re basically straight except for when they’re really stressed and need a nice, big cock in their ass to relieve the tension?”

I sputter and cough as a sip of my drink goes down the wrong pipe. “Uh…I don’t know,” I somehow stammer out, desperately willing my cock to deflate before he thinks to look down.

He sighs. “I’ve tried dildos, and it feels good but it really doesn’t give me what I need. There’s too much work involved. The only thing that really works is being held down and fucked hard.”

Holyfuckingshitballs.
