“Ava isn’t allowed anywhere on her own. We will go in together.” Angus says using his fatherlike tone. He is the only man besides Oliver who calls me by my name.
“Don’t be a buzzkill. How is Viktor going to know you weren’t with us when we go in?”
“Tina, it’s their job.”
“And as your best friend, I am doing the same thing. Viktor owns the place. Everyone knows who you are. We are perfectly safe.” Marco looks at me from the mirror and Angus looks pissed. Tina isn’t the one who has to deal with Viktor’s wrath.
“Let’s park and go in together.” Marco gives me a grateful smile and Angus's shoulders relax.
“You are so boring.” Tina teases.
“And Viktor has a temper. I’m sure you don’t want the night to be ruined by him arguing over why we didn’t follow simple instructions.”
“I’m sure it would have been fine.”
“Says the woman who tears up the minute he raises his voice at you.” I tease.
“True. Now you need to buy me a drink.”
“I thought you were inviting me.” I laugh.
“I’m not the one marrying the owner.” She smiles.
Chapter Fifty-One
Ava
“It’s insane here.” Tina yells. They are definitely overcapacity. It feels like we are in a can of sardines.
“Maybe we should go somewhere else.” I yell.
“No way. I have some friends meeting us.”
“What kind of friends? Did you forget what happened last time?” I’m suddenly nervous.
“No guys relax. Girls night out.” She laughs. “Let’s go see if the VIP is ready.” I let her lead. The manager spots us.
“Ladies, so good to see you.”
“Hi, Arty.” I smile.
“Viktor with you ladies tonight?” I notice Arty is looking behind us where I know Marco and Angus are standing.
“Later. Just us now.”
“I called earlier about a VIP.” Tina chimes in.
“I don’t have anything at the moment. Your request must have fallen through the cracks. Sorry.” He adds apologetically. “I can clear one right away.”
“No need. I’m assuming Viktor will be here in an hour. Just shuffle some people.” I tell him.
“Thanks, Ava. I’ll figure something out. You ladies go to the bar. I’ll get you when everything is ready.”
“Thanks.” I say as he leaves.
“Why did you do that?” Tina huffs.
“Do what?”
