I open my eyes and turn to see Viktor watching me sleep.
“What are you doing? How long have you been up?”
“Not long,” he says, but he is fully dressed.
“What time is it?” I sit up in a panic.
“It’s seven. They are both sleeping,” he says, answering my unspoken question.
“Are you going to work?”
“I am, but I want to show you something.” He is smiling. It reaches his eyes.
“What are you up to?”
“I want to show you something.” He repeats smiling.
“Ok.” I grab a robe and follow him to the living room.
“Have a seat,” he smiles.
“Are you going to tell me what has you smiling?”
“Sit.” I do. He hands me a file.
“What is it?”
“It’s your wedding present.”
“Last I checked, we aren’t married.”
“It is a wedding present. I want you to have it now.” I open the file.
“What is this?” I am looking at purchase documents. I read the first few lines, it says House of Beauty.“I don’t understand.”
“House of Beauty is yours among a few other things.”
“Are you joking? This isn’t funny.” I look at him suspiciously.
“I bought it before everything went wrong. You can ask Oliver. Does it not make you happy?”
“I don’t know the first thing about owning a company.”
“You got this.”
“Viktor,” I start but decide to kiss him instead.“Thank you.” I add once I break the kiss.
“This is for you to build a future outside the Manarch name. Something that is yours and for our children.” I didn’t think it was possible to love him more.“You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here for you.”
“What about the kids?”
“What about them?”
“They need me.”
“And they have you. Would it help if I told you the House of Beauty building has been remodeled to fit your needs?”
