When I saw Ava at the church, I was speechless. She is always beautiful, but this was more like her. She looked like royalty. Perhaps that’s who she’s to me, my Queen, the mother of my children, my partner, my best friend, and the woman I’ll spend the rest of my life with. She is everything and so much more.

As I watch her dance around with Aisling and Niko, I’m in awe of her. Nothing else matters.

When she bends down and whispers something in Aisling’s ear, Aisling starts strolling to me.

“Hi, princess.”

“Dadda.”

When I peer at Ava, she winks at my before nudging her head to Aisling making her way around the table.

“Do you want to dance?” I ask Aisling.

“Dadda,” she coos again.

“Okay, let’s go.”

I pick her up before joining Ava and Niko. They’re all smiles. It’s hard not to smile when you finally have everything you wanted and things you didn’t know you needed.

I gently kiss Ava.

“Dadda,” Niko calls, glances over at me.

“How about we switch?” Ava suggests.

Once we do, we continue dancing to the song.

A short time later, the MC orders, “Everyone, please have a seat. The bride and groom will have their first dance.”

When my mother and Brenda swoop in to steal the kids, I hold my hand out for Ava. “May I have this dance, Mrs. Manarch?”

She accepts my hand. “You certainly may.”

As I pull her closer, she wraps her arms around my neck. I don’t believe in fairytales, and I’m no Prince Charming, but life can’t get more perfect than this.

I hold her close, enjoying the beginning of the rest of our lives.

“Are you happy?”

She inches back to look at me. “More than words could ever describe. Are you?”

“I could use more,” I tease.

She shakes her head to hide her grin. “What now?”

“We ditch this place and...” I let my words linger.

In an instant, hunger forms in her eyes. I stop dancing mid-song. People clap, cheering for more, but I head for the exit with Ava in tow. When I see Oliver, I nod. He returns my gesture, knowing my intentions.

“We can’t just leave. We have guests,” Ava blurts out when she catches on.

“Ask me if I care.”

She smiles before making a beeline for the kids. Following quick goodbyes, I lead Ava outside to where a car is waiting.

“Was this your plan all along? Give me barely one dance and get me to ditch?” She teases.

“You got lucky. I wasn’t even going to give you that. I’m ready to undress you and claim every inch of you.”
