"Florida," Aaron said with a wide grin.

My eyes sparked open in interest. I had always wanted to go to Florida. Aaron knew this. My heart warmed at the thought that he had planned this for me until I remembered I was a late addition to this vacation.

"Where in Florida?"

"You'll just have to be patient and wait. We'll be there before the sun, so you won't have to wait much longer."

I rolled my eyes as I sat back and looked back at the television screen. We had missed most of the movie by talking, but I was okay with that. It was just an action film anyway — they were pretty predictable for the most part.

"Fine, it better be worth all this secrecy. I'd hate for your surprise to suck."

Aaron bumped me with his shoulder. "I promise. You're going to love it."

Chapter Nine

Aaron

Theflightwasenjoyable, and I was sadly hard as a rock. Hearing Erica confess that a previous boyfriend choked her made images in my head. Plus, the couple across from us fooling around underneath that blanket wasn't any help.

With an hour left of the flight, Erica had fallen asleep on my shoulder, and all I could think about was our conversations. Erica was, for the most part, a good girl, but I would have died seeing her skinny dip. I imagined her curves hidden beneath the waves as we bobbed above the surface. Our legs connect, and I feel skin against skin. It would have been a dream to skinny dip together.

I shook my head and tried to get myself together. We would be landing any minute now, and I didn't want to look like a massive perv with a hard-on beneath my jeans. I subtly tried to adjust myself, and that woke Erica up.

"Did I miss the rest of the movie?" she asked, raising her arms above her head and yawning.

A sliver of her skin showed beneath her white t-shirt, and I swallowed.

"Yeah, but you didn't miss much. The good guys won," I responded, averting my eyes to the window.

"How much longer do we have left on this airplane?"

My eyes were still out the window; I could see the ground. "We are descending now, so hopefully, only another twenty minutes."

"Good," Erica said, wiggling in her chair.

It made me wonder if our conversation had affected her nearly as much as I had. I hoped so, then I wouldn't feel as embarrassed.

"Did you enjoy the flight?"

"It wasn't too bad; getting to know you more is always good. Plus, sleep is awesome," Erica said through a yawn.

She was adorable when she yawned. Her nose crinkled in the cutest way.

Shaking my head, I tried to get those thoughts out. I shouldn't be thinking about how cute she was. She was my best friend and pretend fiancée, not real fiancée. I had to remind myself of that.

"What are we gonna do first when we land? I so hope there is a beach. I packed a new bikini just in case," Erica said.

The vision of Erica strutting around the beach in a tiny bikini wasn't helping my problematic situation.

"I guarantee there will be an occasion for you to wear your swimsuit. The place we are going won't disappoint, I promise."

The hotel we stayed at had a private beach and pool, so there would be plenty of time for swimming and tanning.

The plane started on its final descent, and I grabbed the armrest firmly for the second time today, but Erica must have been ready for that reaction from me. She put her hand on top of mine and stroked the back of my hand with her fingers.

It helped me relax, but at that moment, I couldn't help but wish those fingers were stroking somewhere more intimate.

I groaned out loud.
