"My family is already here. Just warning you. So, we have to be on our best behavior," I said, placing my hand on the lower part of her back.

"Will do, Mr. Axel. I shall behave."

I laughed at her antics, but the elevator dinged, alerting us that we were on the top floor.

We made our way to the left toward our suite.

I put the key card in the slot, and the door opened.

"Aaron, is that you?" my mom called out.

"Yeah, Mom, it's me. I brought a guest."

At that, I heard hurried shuffling as my mother ran out of what must have been her room.

"Erica!" My mother shrieked as she ran to us and threw her arms around Erica. "What are you doing here?"

"She's here with me," I said once my mom pulled away.

My mom looked at me questioningly before hugging me too.

"It's not that we aren't happy to see you, Erica. We are, but this is supposed to be a family vacation," Scott said from behind my mom's back.

"Darling, what's all the fuss?" my dad said as he came out of the same room my mother was just in.

"Erica's here," my mom said to him.

My dad raised his eyebrows but didn't say a word.

Everyone stared at the two of us as I reached down and grabbed Erica's hand.

"Looks like they're on to us," I said, directed to Erica.

Turning back towards my family, I held up Erica's hand with the ring on it, "We are engaged."

My mom let out a low screech, and my father blew a whistle. Scott snickered and stayed back as my mom threw her arms around us.

"Oh, my goodness. When did this happen? I didn't even know the two of you were together."

"It happened a couple of months ago."

"You two must be tired from traveling. Why don't you put your suitcases away, and we can discuss this more over dinner?" my dad said.

I was thankful for my father, but my mother shot him a look.

"We are going down to the hotel's restaurant in an hour, so be ready by then," my mom called out after Erica and me as we headed toward the only open bedroom.

Walking inside, I took the single King bed and glanced at Erica.

She threw her suitcase on the ground beside the bed.

"I'm not sleeping on the floor," she said.

"Me neither," I dared to reply.

Erica quirked an eyebrow up at me, and I stared back at her.

"Looks like we are sharing then. I call the right side." Erica hopped onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.
