That was bullshit. The Kincaid family had their hands in enough things that they were very well off, financially.

“If I was a friend I would have been the first call you made and not the backup plan. Who bailed on you?”

“Milo. Wife went into labor early. Not much I could do about that.”

“Damn, I feel disrespected. You went with Milo over me.”

He was decent enough but not nearly as talented.

“You’ve been a little busy, Sol. Wasn’t sure you would have been open to taking the stage.”

He had a point.

“You sure you want me on stage with how busy I’ve been?”

“You really asking me that?”

No. Dom was a true friend. He knew me and didn’t give a damn about a little bad press. He’d experienced enough of his own.

“What time you need me?”

“You can hit the stage by ten. Short set. Whatever you feel like.”

“I can do that.”

“I appreciate you. How many you going to have in your party?”

Fuck.

Inviting Cadence meant she would have to leave Gracie. Black Diamond wasn’t the type of environment for a kid. I’d have to figure something out.

“Not sure. Maybe just one. I’ll have to work a few things out.”

“No problem. Hit me up when you arrive and I’ll take care of whatever you need. Thanks again, Sol. You’re saving my ass. I owe you one.”

“You damn sure do.”

“Ah fuck. That sounds like I’m gonna regret this.”

“You might but it’s not like you have much choice. See you tonight, fam.”

I ended the call and slipped my phone into my pocket.

“You performing tonight?”

“Yeah. Milo bailed on Dom. Wife went into labor.”

“Milo…” he muttered and I chuckled.

“Same shit I said.”

“You taking Cadence?”

“Want to but not sure she’ll want to leave Gracie with someone she doesn’t know.”

“She knows me.”

“You offering?” I arched a brow and he shrugged.
