I turned my cheek to rub it against Laszlo's jaws, accepting his nipping kisses, sighing as he and Asterion settled deep inside of me.

"Are you still weak, dear one?" Laszlo asked, licking along the shell of my ear. I shuddered as Asterion flexed his hips, his groan rising with a fresh wave ofnéktar.

"A little," I admitted. My legs were certainly shaky, trembling in Asterion's grip.

Laszlo breathed in my ear, bucking his hips, and I realized Conall and Hywel had found a new occupation.

I grinned and giggled. "But probably not for long," I said.

"Not if we have anything to say about it," Asterion growled, ducking his head to lick into my moaning mouth as four eager bodies surged in my direction.

The castle wasas busy after the battle as it had been before, although any shadows were firmly attached to the real feet that crossed the stone floors and carpets.

I paused in the kitchen at the sight of Auguste overseeing a small army of house elves, one tiny figure shooing away a few snooping orcs.

Busier, actually.

Laszlo shepherded us out of the frenzy and into the main corridor, and that too was active, full of familiar and unfamiliar figures passing.

"Evanthia! You're all right!"

I stiffened as a blur of red velvet and dark curls rushed toward me, gasping as Esther caught me in a fierce hug.

"Amon?" I asked.

"Fine! He's been wanting to see you," Esther said, pulling away, beaming and flushed. She leaned in and lowered her voice. "Sphinx are very particular about debts, so don't argue with him or he'll be unmanageable."

I blinked and opened my mouth, unsure of my answer, when another voice called my name.

"Rolant!" I called, unexpectedly pleased to see him.

The dragon appeared from a doorway. He was pale, more severe than we'd last seen him, and he bowed stiffly in my direction. At my side, Laszlo tightened his arm around my middle.

"I won't come closer. You've done more for me than you ought to as it is," Rolant said. He nodded to Laszlo. "I only wanted to offer my thanks before I left."

"So soon?" Laszlo asked.

"I have affairs to get in order," Rolant said.

"But you're all right?" I asked, frowning at the careful way he held himself.

"I'll finish healing soon enough."

If Laszlo and Rolant thought they were keeping mynéktarin line by a few meters of distance, they hadn't really understood what had happened in the cavern, but Rolant must've been well enough healed because I didn't feel a tug in his direction, and he turned and strode away before I could say anything.

Esther's eyes narrowed. "But…hedidn'treally say 'thank you,' did he?"

I snorted, and Laszlo shook his head.

"He's rushing off before we call in his debt," Laszlo said, and we continued on our way to the main room.

"I don't needdebts," I muttered, shaking my head. I would've tried to help Rolant anyway, but in truth, I hadn't really been in control of the matter.

We slowed to a stop as we reached the great hall. Conall and Asterion were strolling in from the upper rooms, and Hywel was standing at the center, flanked by three women. One, with glimmering hair and golden skin, turned and beamed at me, and I stiffened to a standstill.

Nimue.
