“I’m going to ask you again, Sonia. What, exactly, are you offering?”

“You want details?”

“Yes.”

“It’s simple. Saturday night was hot as hell. You were in charge, I was in charge. You were helpless, I was helpless. Something tells me there’s a lot going on under your pretty surface. Maybe I misjudged you.”

She went silent. Brendan listened to her breathe, determined to wait her out. The wordhelplesspinged through his body, lighting up his nerves.

“I might regret this,” Sonia said finally. “But I want more. I keep having these dreams where I’m submitting to you. And you’re being completely honest about—”

“About?”

Her voice dropped. “What a bad boy you are.”

Brendan turned toward the building to hide his erection. “Me,” he said. “Bad?”

“Very bad,” Sonia murmured huskily. “Dirty. Kinky. Horny. Sex-hungry. But you never lie to me in my dreams. No, you’re good that way. And I can’t stop thinking about what would happen if you really were honest. With me. So this week only, between now and the wedding, I’m offering to do whatever you want. Because it turns me on, and I think it’ll help you. On Sunday afternoon, we’ll walk down that aisle and be done.”

“You want to help me?” Brendan’s head was spinning. He’d used those same words to seduce Diana into sleeping with him and Ian. It was like Soniaknew, like she could see inside him. “You don’t even like me. What’s the catch?”

“No catch. The only rule is that you have to be upfront. No persuading. No flirting. No seducing. Just tell me straight up what you want. Better yet, demand it.Go ahead and use me like a sex doll for the next seven days, so long as you’re honest about all the fantasies you don’t tell anyone else.”

Brendan almost choked. His brain told him this was a very bad idea. His dick wanted to know why he hadn’t made his first demand yet.

“Sonia,” he said under his breath, “what the fuck? We barely know each other.”

“Don't play dumb, Brendan. I saw more of you in my dressing room than most people ever have, and I’m not talking about your body. All year, you’ve been coming to my dance shows. I’ve seen you hanging around before you ran away. You can’t hide how much you want me.”

Shit. He’d tried to forget that she knew about that. “Are you always this blunt?”

“Yes.”

“Why are you doing this?”

There was a pause. “Because I think we understand each other more than we let on.”

Her voice was softer. Brendan wondered just how much vulnerability lay beneath her brazen exterior.

“You don't know what I'd ask for.” He struggled to regain control. “There might be things I want that are too much for you.”

Sonia laughed. “Oooh, now we’re talking. What deep, dark things will you do to me, Brendan? What’ll happen if you drop the squeaky-clean image and let yourself go?”

He closed his eyes, his stiff cock straining against his slacks. How was it that even though Sonia was offering to submit, it felt like she held all the power?

Finally, she broke the silence. “You don’t trust me, do you?”

“I don’t trust anyone,” Brendan admitted. “Except—”

“Ian and Diana. I know. I don’t trust too many people besides them either.”

How muchdidSonia know? Brendan expelled a breath. “If we do this, I want privacy. They can’t hear anything about it.”

“Privacy, I understand.” Sonia sounded cautious. “But I don’t like secrets.”

“Sonia, listen. My whole life, I’ve shared things with Ian,” Brendan said abruptly. “I know you’re close to him and Di, but this has to stay between you and me. There are a lot of connections between the four of us, and I don’t want a mess before the wedding.”

His words dropped into silence.
