“Ready to have your body back?” I asked.

Her shoulders slumped, “It’s not that I’m ready to evict the little guy, but, yeah, sometimes.”

“I would saynot too much longer, but that used to make me want to stab people,” I offered.

Jenna laughed, “Thank you for not.”

I shrugged, “You’re welcome. For what it’s worth, if Gate and I could have another one, I’d do it in a heartbeat.”

I heard a collective gasp, and all eyes swung to me.

“You would?” Layla asked.

“I think so. Yeah.”

“Your kids are, like, grown,” Gabby observed.

“True. But how sweet would that be,” I mused aloud, looking across the room to find Gate’s eyes on me.

He looked me up and down and didn’t even try to hide it. Then his eyes heated, and my pussy clenched, and when he lifted his chin, I knew exactly what he was telling me, whether he used words or not.

Commotion at the front door pulled my attention away from Gate.

Brick walked in accompanied by a sprite of a woman with blond hair that fell around her shoulders.

And apparently, this was a big deal because the whole room went silent.

Brick stopped at the top of the entrance, his hand hovering at the woman’s back but not quite touching her.

“This is Margo,” he said as if that explained everything.

Margo’s eyes swept the room, and as soon as they hit the posse at the bar, her face lit up, and she started our way.

“This must be where the cool people hang out,” she said, enveloping Jenna in a hug.

The accent pegged her as a Brit, but I didn’t know enough about the local accents to get more specific than that.

“It most definitely is, and you’re welcome to join,” Jenna said, returning the embrace. “You mind?” Jenna asked as she sat back.

“Not at all,” Margo said, nodding to Ink who got started on her drink.

“Girls, this is Margo. She works with Talon in the acquisition department. Margo, this is Gabby, Layla, and Anna,” Jenna said, pointing to us in turn. “And that’s Cassie and Stella down there arguing over music with Lucky and Hatchett.”

About that time Sirius XM Dance Party blared through the speakers.

“You ladies ready to take this outside?” I asked.

After a chorus ofhell yeahs,we stepped into the side of the lot usually reserved for barbecues.

Picnic tables were scattered under an awning close to the building, and there were a few grills already set up across the asphalt under the trees that defined the boundary of the compound.

“That smells amazing,” Margo said.

“The brothers like to eat,” Jenna laughed.

“And they have stellar bar service,” Layla threw in, toasting the air with her glass.

Jenna sat on one of the benches, and the rest of us perched somewhere around her.
