Talon shot Deuce another look and then turned to his president, “No, we didn’t.”

Gate sighed, “Might be a good thing.”

“How so?” Talon questioned, surprise showing on his face.

“They’re still married,” Deuce offered.

Talon’s eyes went wide, “What?”

“I signed papers,” Gate said. “She didn’t.”

“You’ve been married this whole time?” Talon went on.

“Apparently,” Gate said.

“Why the fuck would she do that?” Talon asked.

“Not sure, but I plan to find out,” Gate answered. “I want that woman back. You in?”

“Of course,” Talon said.

“Where will Jenna sit with this?” Gate asked.

Talon scrubbed his hand across his jaw, “Jen’s gonna be on the side of a biker getting his happily ever after, whatever that happens to look like. But are you sure? Annaleftyou. She took your kids.”

Gate nodded, “And I want to find out why.”

And Talon took that in and nodded his head, “I get it. Whatever you need, however you need it, I’m in. And I know Jenna will be too.”

Gate nodded once, “Good. Now, moving on. What have you two got?”

Rooster slid the Mac onto Gate’s desk, and Stash angled it so that everyone in the room could see.

The screen scrolled through pages of spreadsheets.

“What’s this?” Gate asked.

“First, we hacked into Emory University Hospital,” Stash said.

“But that got us nowhere,” Rooster chimed in.

“Then we went after Johns Hopkins and Mayo,” Stash kept talking like Rooster hadn’t interrupted.

“Still nothing,” Rooster shook his head in disappointment.

“What’s the something you were looking for?” Talon asked.

“Medical research,” Rooster answered.

“Ahhhh,” Deuce nodded, like it made all the sense in the world.

“Edward is the super smart brain doc, and it stands to reason that Freemont tapped him to help with drug development,” Stash started.

“But if we know Eddie,” Rooster cut in, “and through Jenna, we kind of do, he’s a prima donna who’s gonna want a swank pad for R&D.”

“In other words,” Stash went on, pulling up satellite footage of a mammoth building that was set off from a winding country road and surrounded by lush landscaping, “Renaissance Therapeutic Industries.”

Gate frowned, “Sports medicine?”
