“Yeah, and you’re the guy with the Harley.”

His grin kicked up again. “My brothers are here. Got some business.”

“Okay.”

Talon glanced down at his phone, checking the time. “Give me two hours and meet me at the steps on River Street.” He reached for the door. “Yeah?”

He opened the door and scanned the yard before he stepped through.

“Yeah,” I promised.

Talon threw a wink over his shoulder, “Later, princess.”

He remembers.

I flipped the lock on the door and then ran upstairs to get ready.

Chapter Three

Wouldn’t Turn Down Seconds

Talon

Talon pushed the chapel doors open and glanced around the table.

Gate sat in place at the head, and Brick, as Sergeant at Arms, was to his right.

The VP’s chair to Gate’s left sat empty, and the rest of the brothers took up their seats, with Lucky, the newest member, sitting at the foot of the table, furthest away from his father.

“What’d you find?” Gate asked.

Talon circled the table and sat. “Rosie’s okay, just beat to hell. She’s the only one they actually got hands on, but the rest are scared as shit.”

Brick, the member who’d been around the longest next to Talon and Gate, spoke. “We took over the hookers ten years, and in all that time nothing. Now this? Doesn’t make sense.”

“Rosie have any kind of message?” Smoke asked.

“Just that they’re coming for the hookers,” Talon answered, shaking his head. “Who tips their hand like that?”

Gate’s voice was a pissed off rumble, “Not Spider. That’s for damn sure.”

“So someone else pulling strings?” Ryder asked, his eyes scanning the table. He was big and he was quiet. So quiet he scared the piss out of most people. If he trusted you, he spoke. Sometimes.

“Yeah. Or someone wants to start a war between us and Spider, and Spider didn’t do shit,” Talon answered.

Gate raked his hand through his hair and sighed. “We gotta get eyes out there, but no one goes out alone. Divide it up and tag team. I’ll do some digging and see what I can find. Meet back in the morning.”

The boys took off, pairing up and divvying shifts.

Talon stood, checking the time.

“You got somewhere to be?” Gate asked.

Talon shoved his phone back into the pocket of his jeans. “Yeah. I’ll take third watch.”

Gate leaned back in his chair and smirked. “Who is she?”

“You don’t know her,” he answered, heading for the door.
