“What about you?”

The car reached the end of the long drive and came to a stop. Beyond the windscreen, tiny snowflakes began to float from the gray sky, landing on the glass. The leather of the driver’s seat creaked as Elias’s weight shifted, and he gave her a look over his shoulder that riled her libido as effectively as Evander’s touch. “Anyone’s hands but mine or his come in contact with you, I’ll break them off at the wrist before I kill the guy. We belong to you, Callie, as equally as you belong with us.”

“We’ll try keep the murder to a minimum,” Evander promised when her mouth dropped open, “but no guarantees.”

This was so surreal. Almost convinced that she was dreaming, Callie pinched her thigh as hard as she could. The bite of pain assured her that it wasnota dream, and she was seriously considering throwing caution to the wind.

What were the pros and cons of this decision?

Well, the pros were being loved by two men who understood who and what she was, for starters. Two men with a similar moral compass, who abided by the rules of BDSM, andwantedto be with her.

Two intelligent men—conversations were never going to be boring.

Two protective men—maybe they could save her from her nightmares.

Double the penis, which kind of slid partially onto the con side of things. Evander was a lot of man to handle on his own; adding Elias into the bedroom equation was daunting, especially with the teasing hints that he wasn’t lacking in endowment.

There were probably a thousand more pros on the list, but her brain was too busy trying to balance everything into order. That meant studying the cons, and she didn’t like negative thinking.

However, she needed to understand the consequences of being with two men—preferably before they snuck up on her in a sneak attack.

Double the men meant double the heartbreak if anything went wrong.

Her personal time would be drastically cut down from being all hers to split between keeping two guys happy without making them feel neglected. There would undoubtedly be rules laid out—Elias seemed to be a stickler for goddamn rules—so would he demand her writing habits change? Sometimes she worked until the early hours of the morning, then slept until noon if she had a deadline.

Causing conflict between Elias and Evander was a huge concern for her. In her opinion, she wasn’t worth breaking a friendship over if something bad happened.

What to do, what to do…

Elias

The little minx was a pro at keeping him on edge, he mused, pulling off the road leading from the ranch onto the one heading back to Denver. As much as he’d like to sit and wait for her to finish organizing her thoughts, it was best he kept driving before the clouds blocking out the sky decided to unleash its full wrath of heavy white snow.

Pretty flakes were already drifting down, slowly enough, but that could change between one breath and the next. The damn stuff was settling on the ground, and getting stranded out here with nothing but two bottles of water and a handful of protein bars was on hisdo not fucking do thatlist.

He wished Evander hadn’t broached the subject of sharing their favorite girl just yet, for several reasons. One being he was in the wrong position to read her face and body language, to gauge whether she truly desired whichever decision she made.

Another one was that, should they be unfortunate enough to get caught in a fucking blizzard, this vehicle wasn’t ideal for celebration…or commiseration.

But Evander was astute, keenly in tune with Callie’s thoughts and emotions.

After a decade of friendship, he was also far too familiar with Elias’s moods and reactions.

“I want to say yes.” Callie’s sweet voice was quiet, a little subdued. Not quite childlike, which meant her control wasn’t compromised yet. “I want to be brave and daring, but there’s a lot at stake here. Hearts and friendships, things that aren’t easy to fix once they’re broken. So I need a promise, from both of you.”

“All right,” Evander murmured.

“I need you to promise me that if the…relationship doesn’t work out, your friendship won’t suffer. It’s important to me,” she said earnestly when no one spoke. “What you have is what I always dreamed of having; my friendship with Shona is amazing, but it doesn’t come close to what you’ve built. If something bad happens, I don’t want anyone to fight, not over me. I’m not wort—”

Before she could finish the sentence, Elias hit the brakes. Using years of experience driving in unforgiving terrain and conditions, he controlled the slight skid as the SUV slid to a stop. “If you don’t spank her raw for that, I will.”

Callie spluttered. “For what?”

“Eli has a deeply ingrained hatred of submissives putting themselves down, which includes but isn’t limited to: not realizing their worth; negatively focusing on one or more body parts; relegating themselves beneath their peers; placing their needs and emotions second to someone else’s.” Evander listed them all calmly. “However, in this instance, I think he should remember that just because Daniel beat several bad habits into you doesn’t mean they can be undone by the same method.”

Hands fisted on the wheel, Eli glared out at the snow as the flakes got bigger. “Daniel’s actions, as reprehensible as they were, shouldn’t be an excuse to avoid reprimanding derogatory behavior. We are not him; Callie needs to learn that we’re not going harm her, and the only way she’s going to trust us is to take her punishment when she earns it.”
