That was true. During his time in the States, he’d met a few. “We should be the ones pushing her to breaking point, Evander. Breaking her and putting her back together again.”

There was a furious, high-pitched scream, and their quiet submissive turned into a fucking banshee. The use of her hated name and the mention of the belt was powerful enough to unlock the chains on her repressed feelings.

“She knows we won’t exploit her hard limits. We promised her we wouldn’t. Atticus will respect those limits, but she doesn’t know that.” Grimacing, Evander blew out a breath, watching the same shitshow as Eli. “Of all the Masters here, Atticus and Jasper have the right mindset to get this done.”

“The Daddy and the sadist?”

“Mmm-hmm. Jasper would terrify the shit out of her, hence—”

“Atticus got the job.”

The job was slightly insane right now, and Atticus kept throwing gas on the fire, fending off the tiny fists and flying feet with ease, goading her again with her name. He reached for the belt, lifting it off the back of the armchair and bringing it down against his denim-clad leg with a sharp crack as the two lengths of leather snapped together.

Callie dropped.

Knees tucked under her, ass in the air, with her chest and head pressed to the floor at Atticus’s feet. The sound barely had time to fade before her arms were wrapped over her head, protecting herself as she cowered.

“That’s not good, Evander,” Elias muttered.

“No, it’s not.”

The look Atticus gave them was both sympathetic and disbelieving. He crouched slowly, laying the belt beside her before resting his big hand between her shoulder blades.

She flinched, making noises like a terrified dog.

“Callie, do you know where you are?”

She said nothing, her arms tightening.

Petting her back, Atticus wasn’t deterred by the lack of communication. He glanced up briefly at Alicia as she moved to hover nearby, but just nodded when she wisely remained out of harm’s way. “Sweetheart, do you know who I am?”

“M-Monster.”

“Fuck, we need to stop this.”

Evander’s arm shot out and smacked into Elias’s chest as he took a step forward. “It has to be the right moment, Eli, or all this has been for nothing.”

“I’m not a monster, Callie. Daddies like me make the monsters go away permanently. Look over your shoulder and tell me what you see.”

Her skin was recoiling from Atticus’s touch, twitching beneath the slow, gentle stroke of his hand. “I-Is the belt gone?”

Alicia darted forward and snatched the cursed thing up, hiding it under a sofa cushion.

“It’s gone, little one.”

Every muscle in her body was coiled tight. She’d have some painful bloody knots in her back by the time this was over. Bit by bit, her arms relaxed their defensive position, every movement cautious and slow.

When she finally glanced over her shoulder, her cheeks were still flushed with the remnants of her temper, but the rest of her face was dead white. Those expressive eyes were wet again, the wounds in their depths stark.

“Who are they?” Atticus asked.

“M-My Daddies.”

“Are they good Daddies?”

She nodded, then dropped her forehead back to the floor.

“What do you think the mean one on the left would’ve done to me if I’d let that leather so much as kiss you lightly?”
