“Well, they have…cold beer.” I inwardly cringe.

Really, cold beer? That’s the best I could come up with?

“I suppose their beer is exceptionally cold. But The Blue Anchor doesn’t seem like your type of hang out. Why not hang out at Porter’s? I’m sure they have cold beer, too.”

I need to get Trey off my back so I can get out of here because if the hot bad boy shows up right now, it could get awkward. Mostly for me, but awkward, nonetheless. “I could ask you the same thing.”

“I’m meeting Bennett. We occasionally come here for some peace and quiet with our beer.”

“Wait.” I dramatically gasp, my fingers covering my mouth. Then I lean in and whisper, “Are you cheating on Porter’s with The Blue Anchor?”

Trey's eyes go wide and his body tenses. “Shit. Do you think Jake knows? He has been a little standoffish toward me.” Trey glances over his shoulder. “Jake would be so mad. I bet he has spies watching me.” He glances over his other shoulder before stopping his gaze on me. “You never saw me here.” Pulling his phone out of his pocket and taping the screen. After a few silent moments, he says into the speaker, “Abort mission. I repeat abort mission. Jake has spies at The Blue Anchor. We need to go elsewhere.” Slowly, he inches backward, phone still to his ear until he reaches the exit. Then he spins around and throws open the door and rushes out.

As soon as the door closes behind him, my shoulders drop.

That was close.

I need to get out of here in case he returns, or worse, I actually run into the hot bad boy. I’m too flustered to see him. Rushing out of the bar, I dash down the sidewalk to where my car that’s parked around the corner. I peer down into my bag and rifle through, searching for my phone.

Oomph

Suddenly, I’m stumbling backward until an arm wraps around my waist, preventing me from falling on my ass.

“Duchess?” His deep, gruff voice sends a shiver through my body and parks itself right between my legs.

Glancing up, I’m greeted with the same lips that filled my dreams for the past week. My breath hitches. “Oh. Uh. Um.”

I’ve never been one to get tongue tied when talking to guys, but this one makes me forget how to form proper words. Hell, I don’t even know if I know my own name right now. Oh. That’s all I could come up with. Oh—oh, I could actually use a big one of those right now. Preferably with this guy hovering above me. I snap myself out of my daydream and fumble to steady myself on my feet.

“There you are. I was getting concerned. Your eyes glazed over and—”

“Uh yeah. No. I’m good.” Real good. My body burns where his hand is still gripping my waist. Get yourself together. I scold myself. You’ve spent the last hour hoping to see him and now he’s standing in front of you and all you can spew are half sentences. I shake my head. “Kiss me,” I whisper.

He tilts his head as his lips tip up into a half smile.

I inwardly cringe. Guess I’m two for two. “Oh, God.” I smack my forehead. “It was the first thing that came to mind. Then I just word vomited all over you.” I drag my hand down his black t-shirt, and over his chiseled chest, to wipe away the word vomit. “That’s nice.” I purr as I continue petting his chest. A deep rumble sounds from his chest, breaking me from my lust filled trance. I drop my hand to my side. “Sorry. I was hoping to run into you again. That’s why I’m here. I haven’t stopped thinking about our first kiss and I really wanted another one and now I’m rambling. I never ramble but—”

He brings his hand up and clasps his fingers around the nape of my neck and hauls me to him. My eyebrows shoot up to my hairline, but of course, I go willingly. This is the second time he’s handled me like this. Not sweet and caring like every other guy has done, but it’s possessive and wild. A spark ignites and courses through my entire body just from his touch. Then his lips are on mine. Demanding and harsh, and hot as hell. It’s everything I remembered and more. I snake one hand up his stomach and grip the front of his well-worn t-shirt, needing to hold on to something so I don’t float away. Needing more of him, I press closer into his body and deepen the kiss. Our tongues caress and stroke against each other’s. His grip on my neck tightens and I half groan from the pain and moan from the pleasure. With his body pressed up against mine, he can do whatever he wants to me.

I pull from the kiss, my breathing labored. “That was better than the first time.”

“I’ll promise to make the third and fourth even better.”

An eruption of butterflies take flight inside me. He wants more. “My name is Olivia Ellis.” My words are soft and breathy.

“Ledger Hudson.”

His name even sounds bad boyish. I imagine how it would sound rolling off my tongue as he brings me to orgasm. And I really want to test it out. My phone buzzes in my purse, and I know it’s my mom wondering where I am for our charity meeting. I inwardly roll my eyes. Even when she’s not here, she still manages to ruin everything.

I sigh. “I have to get going.”

“Is this payback for kissing and leaving last time?” The corner of his lips pull into a smile, a small dimple forms on his left cheek.

I chuckle. “I have a meeting I need to get to before I’m late.”

He nods. “So, can I have your number or should we just plan to run into each other again at The Blue Anchor?”

“As much as I love our meetings, phone numbers sound like a better idea.” I dig for my phone in my purse, unlock it, and pass it to him. “Add your number.” Once he types in his number, he passes my phone back to me. I glance down at the screen name he gave himself. “Sexy Bad Boy, huh?”
