With his arm still draped over me, I roll to my side to face him. My movements cause him to stir awake. Hooded, deep, steely gray eyes meet mine. “Good morning.”

“Good morning, beautiful.” His voice is low and gravelly from sleep. “How long were you watching me sleep?”

“Oh, not too long. Hour tops.” I bite back my laughter.

“Next time, I’ll have to give you something worthwhile to watch.” He pulls me tighter to him. His hard cock pressing into my stomach.

“Is that so?” I run my fingers over his chest, faintly tracing his tattoos, which has become a favorite pastime of mine. Pretty soon, I’m going to have them all memorized.

He rolls us over so I’m now straddling his hips. Only two thin layers of fabric keep him from slipping inside me. I rest my palms on his chest, my right one covering his padlock tattoo, while he runs his fingers up and down my thighs. Without realizing it, I slowly grind myself up and down his length.

“Fuck, duchess.” He groans, almost painfully. “Don’t start something you don’t intend to finish.”

“No worries. I fully intend on finishing. All over your cock.”

He moves his hand down, so it’s between us, and moves my panties to the side. I inhale a sharp breath as I easily slide down his thick length, stretching me in by inch.

“Look how your tight pussy wraps around my dick. Sucking me in.” He bucks his hips, pushing deeper into me, the silver ball hitting my g-spot and I’m already on the brink of orgasm. “That’s it duchess. Take what you want. Ride my cock.”

His words spur me on to move faster and faster. My pants and moans grow louder, echoing off the surrounding walls. I’m pretty sure any person walking by can hear me chanting Ledger’s name from inside. My toes curl and I dig my nails into his muscular chest as my orgasm crashes through me fast and furious. Ledger groans, bucking his hips into me, chasing his own orgasm. Seconds later, his hot seed spills inside me. Both of us breathless, our hearts racing as we float back down to Earth. I lean forward and rest my cheek on his chest. He wraps his arms around me, holding me close.

“New rule. We start off every morning like this.” He trails his hands up and down the cotton covering my back. His cotton shirt.

“You’re insatiable.”

“Only when it comes to you. But also, you just know it’s going to be a good day when it starts off with an orgasm.”

“It’s hard to argue with that.” I press a kiss to his chest. The same spot I had my head on moments ago. I rise off him and exit the bedroom to get cleaned up in the bathroom. When I return, Ledger’s dressed and typing on his phone, a scowl covering his face. “What’s wrong?”

He places his phone on the dresser. “Jay said a package was dropped off at the shop. No address, just my name.”

“That’s odd.” Just then, my phone buzzes on the nightstand. Glancing down, my sister’s name pops up with the text. I type out a quick reply. “Tatum wants me to meet her for lunch.”

“Okay. I’m going to head out to the shop and see what this package is.”

“Be careful. Open it slowly in case it’s a glitter bomb.” I motion my hands like a bomb exploding. “Glitter everywhere. You’d sparkle for days.”

“Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind.” He grips the nape of my neck and hauls me to him, pressing his lips to mine. “Enjoy lunch with your sister.” After one last peck, he releases me and makes his way out of the bedroom, and then the bathroom door clicks shut.

I walk to the half open bi-fold doors and rifle through the cramped closet. By the time I find an outfit and make my way to the bathroom to take a shower, Ledger is long gone. An hour later, I’m ready and head out to meet Tatum.

I pull into the parking lot of a small café. As I climb out of my SUV, my phone buzzes with a text from my sister, letting me know she already has a table. I sling my purse over my shoulder and tug my cream colored, oversized, cable knit cardigan tighter around me as the breeze flutters around me. When I enter the large wood double doors of the café, I inform the hostess I’m meeting my party here. She guides me into the large dining room. Tables draped in white tablecloths are strategically placed throughout the open room. The afternoon sun beams through the large floor to ceiling windows, casting a glimmering reflection of Lake Superior.

I round a pillar and freeze. With slow, cautious footsteps, I approach the table. When I lock eyes with Tatum, her blue eyes plead with mine. We’ve always had a connection. Ever since we were kids, we could tell what the other was thinking with just a look. I know whatever is happening right now wasn’t her doing.

Right before I reach the table, I clear my throat. My mom’s head swivels toward me. “Is this an ambush or something?” With a hand on my waist, I pop my hip.

“Take a seat. There’s no need to cause a scene.” She pats the chair cushion next to her.

“If you didn’t want a scene, you shouldn’t have come.” I move past her and take the seat next to Tatum and directly across from my mom.

Tatum leans toward me and whispers, “I didn’t invite her, she called me and when I said where I was going, she invited herself.”

“It’s okay. Would you expect anything else? This works better. We can clear the air.” My gaze shoots to my mom. We pause and exchange glances before the server interrupts us to take our drink order.

Once the server is a few steps away from the table, Mom purses her red lips, leans in, and with her voice low she says, “Olivia, let’s not do this here. Let’s just have a nice lunch.” She straightens in her seat and unfolds her napkin acting as if nothing’s wrong. “How have you been?”

Any other person would be shocked by her sudden change of behavior, but not me. Sadly, I’m used to it. “I’m great. More than great actually.”
