“Eden texted me the other night,” Dash says. “She said she wanted to go cliff-diving today, but obviously can’t, so she’s going to watch while Colt does it. Though I get the feeling he wasn’t entirely onboard.”

“Poor Colt,” Sailor says with a chuckle. “I hope he can keep up with his bride.”

“He knew what he was getting into,” Dash replies.

“That’s our Eden. A firecracker,” Fallon comments with a grin. “Okay, I’m off to do some ‘research’ with the most handsome man in the building.” She tosses me and Dash a wink then saunters off toward Ryan’s office.

“I don’t know when this place turned into a couple’s retreat,” Dash comments dryly.

“Speaking of which,” Sailor says and turns her sky-blue eyes at Dash. “What are your thoughts about online dating sites?”

Horror spreads over Dash’s face. “Why?” he asks suspiciously, drawing the word out.

“No reason,” Sailor says brightly. “I was just thinking of signing up on one and thought it would be fun if you did, too.”

“Absolutely fucking not,” Dash says firmly. “Why don’t you and Maddox do it together?”

When his mouth edges up, I get the urge to punch him. “I don’t need a website to find a woman,” I mumble.

Sailor turns her attention to me and rolls her eyes. “Oh, no, of course not. Well, let me clue you in– the last time I looked, no one was knocking down your door for a date.”

I bite my tongue.

“I take it you and Penelope are officially done?” Dash asks.

Penelope and I broke up about three months ago. She was nice and ready to get married. Really ready to get married. It’s all she talked about– what dress she wanted, what flowers she liked, how many guests she wanted to invite. She never once asked me what I would like.

And for someone who didn’t like sex very much, she had already planned out having three children, knew what their names would be and where they’d be attending private school.

I blow out a sigh and run a hand through my short hair. “Affirmative.”

When I glance over at Sailor, I can’t miss the slight smile. I’m not sure what it means. Is she happy we broke up? Or glad I’m single again? I’d never admit it, but I’m thrilled she’s no longer with “what’s-his-name,” that idiot dentist. I saw the guy once when he stopped by the office, and it took all my self-control not to pummel him with my bare fists and then toss him out the nearest window. He wasn’t good enough for her. And, yeah, maybe I was a little jealous. Because even though, technically, she isn't mine, Sailor Moon Shaw belongs to me.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

Her blue eyes are locked on my face. “What?” I ask grumpily.

She shrugs a small shoulder. “I never thought your ex was very bright.”

“She was smart enough to break up with me,” I say with a self-deprecating smirk.

Sailor opens her mouth to respond then thinks better of it and presses her lips together.I love her lips. With an inner groan, my gaze dips to that perfect, pink pout of hers. Full and luscious, just like her curves.

I bite my teeth together and turn away, heading back down to my office. Dash chuckles and Sailor follows me.Dammit.I can’t do this with her right now. I’m not in the mood for verbal sparring when all I want to do is bend her over my desk and empty out two years of frustration into her tight, little-

“Maddox! What is your problem?”

I huff out a breath and drop down in the chair behind my desk, hiding the growing bulge in my cargo pants. “Nothing,” I grunt.

She eyes me for a moment and then props her pert ass on the edge of my desk. “Are we going to discuss the job?”

I toss the folder. “There’s nothing to discuss,” I counter. I need her to get out of here. Her sweet candy scent is making me so hard, it’s painful. How the hell I’m going to handle the next few days in her constant company is beyond me. It’s getting harder and harder– the jobs together and my dick. Striving for control, I pull my desk drawer open and yank out the small box of Tatiana cigars.

She crosses her arms. “You can’t smoke in here. Dash will have a fit.”

I pluck one up and roll it between my fingers. Tatiana Classic Cherry cigars are a light, sweet smoke, handcrafted in the Dominican Republic. With their enticing flavor of ripe cherries, smooth, mellow taste and pleasant aroma, they are a reckless vice I am not willing to break. My former SEAL team and I found a box of them on a raid once and we split them up. I’ve smoked them ever since.

They remind me of the good ol’ days, and the cherry oil infusion…well, that makes me think of Sailor. I’d be willing to bet she tastes just as sweet and juicy.
