I didn’t register his fingers until he’d already brushed some of my hair out of my face. Twisting to look at him, the heat of a blush grew up passed the collar of my shirt.

Marco wasclose. Instead of looking at our surroundings, he was staring into my eyes.

My heart thumped heavily. Not because of fear, not this time around.

“You don’t have to talk about him if it upsets you,” he murmured before catching himself touching me.

We’d clearly spent too much time together in the last twenty-four hours. That, or I’d grown so touch-hungry that I didn’t mind the warmth of his fingers against my face.

I was asking for trouble by leaning against his hand. Yet, I couldn’t stop myself. There was something about Marco that just drew me in.

His hand fell away much to my dismay and I couldn’t help but look a little lost.

“Frankie, I think you should head back up,” he murmured, “otherwise, I’m going to do something I can’t take back.”

It was wrong to want such a dangerous man. Having him so close, within my reach. Then again, I couldn’t remember the last time another person had made me smile so much.

I didn’t give him the chance to doubt himself. Leaning in his direction, I threw caution to the man and kissed him.

A gasp left my lips when I was easily tugged over his lap. Pictures be damned, nothing was going to get in our way if he had anything to do with it.

“You sure you want to do this?” he asked, his thick question brushing my lips. “I’m not exactly a deserving man, Frankie.”

I answered his question by meeting his lips once more. Rather than talking, I’d much rather enjoy the brush of his facial hair against the palms of my hands as I cradled his face.

Like instinct, Marco crushed my body against his. Kept me right in place as he opened up. While I might’ve been a bit rusty at kissing, the guy had no issue taking over. When his probing tongue demanded a response, I worked to keep up.

Marco didn’t realize how easily I melted at his warmth.

Rather than quick experimental kisses, something shifted. Transforming into hot, demanding ones, all I could do was lean forward and try to satisfy the hunger building in my gut.

He tasted musky, too good to be true. The longer we remained connected, the more I wanted.

His hands were resting so comfortably against my sides. His fingers were massaging my body. For such a dangerous man, he had quite the gentle touch.

Being the first to pull away, I ran my tongue against my lips.

Marco had a matching hungry gaze. Clearly, the kiss opened up Pandora’s Box and we both gave into what we secretly wanted.

“We still have a lot of boxes to go through,” I pointed out a bit too huskily.

Even though I was the one to initiate the kiss, I couldn’t possibly go asking for more. Not when Marco intended on leaving my home once he found the impersonator.

Unless I planned on getting my heart broken, I needed to be satisfied with the kiss.

Thankfully, Marco nodded in agreement. There was a shift in his eyes and I hoped the same thought had crossed his mind as well.

Marco

Two weeks. I’d been hunting for fourteen days and hadn’t gotten far.

Frankie was too fucking distracting. All she had to do was stand there and I’d want to stare.

One kiss had been more than enough to trap me. Now I didn’t have enough time to look anywhere else. Over the past few days, I learned to accept my fate.

My family would mock me if they saw me now. While Bruno would judge me for growing soft, Ramona would take every possible chance to make jokes. After all, I’d always told her I wouldn’t waste my time with love.

That was before a raven-haired beauty stole my heart.
