“Go ahead and turn on the signal jammer; let’s go.” Checking my appearance in the mirror, I looked at Tran.

“I'm not going to risk him identifying me. I'm waiting here.”

Glaring at him, I mentally counted to ten. I couldn’t wait to kill this asshole. It perplexed me how he’d managed to live this long with his bad attitude and laxed behavior.

“Remember, if you fail or get caught, your girlfriend is dead.” He reclined his seat and closed his eyes.

He thought I'd be upset. This was the perfect opportunity for me to get all the evidence and give Le what I wanted him to have. His absence at my side allowed me to see what Cun was up to.

“When I tell you to come, don’t delay. If you do anything to fuck this up, I’ll tell Tran. We’ll both be dead. While he is unconscious, we have a short window to search his home. We don’t know how many men are inside. Stay alert and wait for my call.”

Tran sat up. “Who do you think you’re talking to? Don’t make me kill you now.”

I slammed his head down on the dashboard, then wrapped the seatbelt around his neck, choaking him. “I'm not losing my girlfriend because you’re stupid. I don’t mind killing you. After I give Le the tapes, he will forget all about your death.”

Before he could respond, I slipped out and slammed the door.

I walked to the back of the white van, opened the doors, and grabbed two cases of water bottles. It was impossible to see that the two cases had been tampered with. If Cun wasn’t home, I would need to produce another plan. If he didn't leave the house, I would still be given a short window to do what I needed to do. Reaching the front door, I leaned on the doorbell.

Two muscular security guards with guns opened the door. The taller one was wearing a muscle shirt with his suit and the shorter man was bald and had a tattoo of a devil on his neck.

The one wearing a suit with a muscle shirt stepped outside and looked around. “You’re ten minutes early.”

He approached the van and opened the back. It was empty and he turned to me with a puzzled look on his face.

“I'm taking my girlfriend on a date tonight. She's tired of my ass, and I can't lose her. I was hoping to get off a little early and this is my last stop because we had some cancellations today.”

“I get it. That is one of the reasons I don’t have a girlfriend. Hurry up. The boss ran out and he's not happy about it.”

He strolled past me and led me inside the house.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I noticed two panels mounted on the wall but they didn’t seem like the manufacturer standard panels, more than likely they were video, and audio capabilities so the owner knew what was happening in his home. The wig and contacts made me look vastly different. I had perfected talking like an American. My Irish accent was nowhere in my speech pattern. There were two men inside the kitchen off the media room. One had a ponytail and tight suit pants while the other man had a face tattoo and his black suit was loose.

The male with the ponytail pointed to the mini fridge. “Put one of the cases in here individually and put the other case in the garage on the bottom shelf.”

“Got it.” I Placed the water in the mini fridge and followed the man to the garage.

The space was temperature controlled, custom organized and spotless. During a shootout, there was nowhere to hide here. There weren't any luxury cars but I suspected he kept his car collection off the property. This place had a three-car garage so there was another separate garage, which held his car and weapons. After placing the box on the lower shelf, I followed the man out. Because I was deaf, there was no way for me to know whether Cun was home with an army or not. To judge the situation properly, I needed to get a better look. In the end, it wouldn't matter. Once he drank the water, my window of opportunity would arrive.

As soon as I stepped outside, the front door closed behind me.

Sliding into the driver’s seat, I started the engine and drove away. “The security team is heavily armed and Cun, I believe, is upstairs. However, I never saw him. The house is spotless, there’s hardly any place for coverage, and cameras are everywhere.”

Tran narrowed his eyes. “How did you see all that? You’ve only been inside for twenty minutes. This sounds like some shit you've done before.”

“Going into enemy territory in the dark without knowing the layout or having intelligence was something I’d never do. Also going into a man’s like Cun’s home, with one man who might not have my back was something I would never done.”

Tran laughed. “I don’t have permission to kill you so relax.”

“I don't know about you, but I plan to fuck my girl tonight. I hadn’t planned to catch a bullet in the brain.

Rounding the corner, I turned down another street. I parked in front of the last home on the cul de sac.

I handed him the keys. “Here you hold on to these. I'm going through the woods to see if I can get a look upstairs. I want to see if Cun drinks the water. I'm hoping he leaves but if he doesn't, then it's the water bottle. If he doesn't drink the water, it's Plan C.”

Tran sat up. He palmed the keys. “What's Plan C?”

“I don’t have a Plan C. If plan A and plan B don't happen, I'll produce one. Keep your ass low and stay out of sight. Stay in the van. Answer your phone call and come when I call you. I’ll tell you when to turn on the signal jammer and come inside.”
