Scowling, Casper hits the End button, and his sister disappears.

“That was very rude.”

“Are you serious? Aftereverything, you still think I’m a wanker.” He chucks his phone on the bed and swings his legs over the side. “There is no pleasing you, Ainsley. What the fuck!”

I check his room for the portal to another dimension.

A few orgasms and a flower does not make up for an arrest.

Standing, he whips his T-shirt off over his head.

“It’s because ofeverything, Casper.”

He holds his hand up. “If you mention being arrested... Nothing was going to come of that, I made sure of it. You’ve come for sex so take your clothes off, let me fuck you, and then you can go back to your evening. Go stick pins in your doll of me or add a new entry to your I-hate-Casper blog.”

The portal is undoubtedly here somewhere. I do like the idea of the blog, though.

“What’s happening?”

He absentmindedly throws his T-shirt at the wall while scowling at me. “Do you want to get laid or are we done here?”

I stand and meet his scowl, the sunflower falling to the floor. “Oh, we’re so done here, you massive baby.”

“Massive baby. You seem to be running out of insults.”

“Have you taken something? Why are you getting so sensitive?”

“You are not stupid, Ainsley. Why are you acting like it?”

“I shouldn’t think you’re saying bad things about me, surely. That goes against pretty much everything that’s happened between us… until last week.”

His eyes are bullets. “Just get out.”

I fold my arms in a show of defiance. He will not tell me what to do; no chance. We’re not naked now. “No. You can explain why you’re being like this.”

“In here, when it’s just us, there’s not supposed to be any of that bullshit. I thought we had that understanding,” he says.

What understanding? We’ve never spoken about how we’re going to treat each other. We argue or avoid each other and, recently, have sex.

“I wasn’t aware that anything had changed besides sleeping together, since we still can’t be within two feet of each other without fighting. You’re cagey and evasive, and you’re kind of proving my point here.”

“You think we should still argue when we’re alone?”

“One, we weren’t alone. Your sister could hear us. Two, you argued with me when we had sex the other day.”

Okay, hottest thing ever, but so not the point right now.

He throws his hands up and turns away like I’m the frustrating one here. I need a memo of what to expect before getting into the ring with him.

“Casper!”

“Please leave, Ainsley. I’m not in the mood.”

“Fine,” I say, leaving him to sulk like the knobhead he is.

If he lived alone, I would do something on my way out. Pour all his milk over the floor or something else painfully juvenile.

My aunt warned me that men can me mindfucks, and clearly, I didn’t heed the warning, or I would have stayed away from Casper.
