“You’re what?”

“I’m not, but your face is a picture, sweetheart.”

Reggie laughs hard. I don’t think it would really shock him if Casper had done that.

“How did you know I was here, Casper?”

“I was passing, and the glass is transparent.” He points behind him with his thumb. The entire front of the building is glass and overlooks the high street. “How was the exam?”

“Right. It went really well.”

“It was fucking awful,” Reggie says.

“You haven’t failed,” I tell him. “We’ve both aced the course and will be organising festivals and concerts before you know it.”

Casper hands my drink back to me. “Can you answer the man about howwechange your plans?”

“You know I’m not going anywhere.”

“Now who’s obsessed?”

“I can change my mind. Check your ego.”

With a shake of his head, he says, “We’ve been through this at your aunt and uncle’s.”

“Blink twice if you need help,” Reggie says.

“Why are you still here?” Casper asks.

“I’m the one Ainsley invited. You’re the one crashing our date.”

“Fuck off,” Casper growls, despite knowing Reggie is gay and has no interest in me like that.

Not going to lie, I love his jealous streak, though.

“Where’s my sunflower?” I ask, remembering that he was under strict instructions to find it some water.

He rolls his eyes. “At mine. It’s nearly dead. I’ll get you a new one. A whole bunch.”

“No, I want that one. It’ll still look good dried out.”

He eyes me like he thinks I’m weird as hell. “Whatever you want.”

“Imani and Freya have been messaging me constantly. Can you go home before me and explain?” I ask.

Casper frowns and looks at my screen to see two new messages from them in the last few minutes. He takes it off me and calls Imani.

“What are you doing?”

He silences me with a stare. “No, it’s Casper,” he says into the phone.

Opposite me, Reggie is laughing. The little traitor is supposed to be on my side.

“Yes. No… Why would I? No, we’re notjust fucking.” He doesn’t lower his voice despite being in a public place. “I kept her quiet,” he says with a smirk that makes me blush.

I can imagine what Imani asked him to get that response.

“You must be a heavy sleeper. I snuck in… Yeah, she’s good. No, I’m not going to.”
