We eat for a few minutes in silence. I butter a piece of bread and hand it to her.

“It’s nice being here with you. It’s so far away from my regular life.”

“I don’t want to present this as all rainbows and sunshine. There are difficult days. I’ve been caught near forest fires, and stuck in hurricanes. Not to mention some clients are problematic.”

Imogen gets up and starts cleaning the dishes. “What do you do when something unexpected happens?”

“We remind our guides to rely on their training, stay positive, and devise a plan to get to safety. Sometimes the client falls apart and insists they can’t do it.”

She nods. “As a teacher, I experience that every day. Meltdowns are frequent and part of the work. The secret is to stay calm and talk them through it.”

I tug her into my arms and kiss the sensitive spot behind her ear. “That is the secret. Stay calm and issue instructions.”

She puts her arms around my neck. “This is much more enjoyable than I expected.”

My hands find the rounded curve of her arse, and I squeeze, pulling her closer.

She laughs. “Can we go in the hot tub tonight?”

“Absolutely.” I kiss her briefly. “I need to turn it up so we’ll have to find something to do for thirty minutes.”

Guiding her to the stairs, I say, “I’ll show you the lower level.”

As I follow her down the stairs, I readjust myself. I can’t touch her without immediately getting hard. Antigua will be challenging if I can’t focus properly.

I can’t seem to get enough of her. I want to see her laugh, but I also want her to be comfortable enough with me to share her innermost thoughts. I usually want to block that stuff out. I never have the urge to share my interior thoughts with anyone. But she is different. She doesn’t expect anything from me. It makes me want to give her everything, which can’t be good.

Visiting Antigua (Imogen)

Iwatch out the window as our small chartered plane touches down at the V.C. Bird International Airport. The local time in Antigua is noon, but it feels like midnight. I see one runway and turquoise blue water in the distance.

I look at Alex. “I’m so tired.”

He pushes his sunglasses on and leans towards me. “Maybe you should have been getting more sleep, sweetheart.”

I smile. He is an expert at seduction and foreplay. Instead of worrying about conventions or rules, I revealed so much about myself to him. Probably too much.

The plane comes to a complete stop, and I stand up. I haven’t been more than a few feet from Alex over the last three days. Being in Antigua will change things. He’s meeting clients in an hour and leaving me to work on my scuba diving course.

The steward opens the plane's side door, and stairs are immediately brought over.

Alex stands and says, “Make sure you have your papers out.”

I retrieve my passport from the front pocket of my backpack. After thanking the steward and the captain, I follow Alex down the stairs.

An official greets us and gestures to a door marked “security.”

When I step inside the terminal, the cool air surprises me. I’m sent over to a low counter to meet with a security person. After he checks my backpack, he reviews my passport and says, “Welcome to Antigua, Ms. Smith.”

Alex waits for me at the exit. He smiles and opens the door to the main terminal. There are escalators to the top floor with restaurants and shops.

“It’s more modern than I was expecting.”

He checks his phone and says, “It was built a few years ago. Before that, the structure was much more bare bones.”

I follow him outside and take in the palm trees and warm air. I put my sunglasses on. The sun feels good, but I’ll need more sunscreen.
