And I couldn’t be happier.

When he pushed an inch inside, I let out a ragged moan.

“So fucking tight. My perfect girl.” He stroked my back, the tips of his fingers caressing my skin. Then he thrust another few inches inside, my muscles aching as a flash of pain erupted in my system.

“Oh, God. Oh…” I clamped my fingers around the material, squeezing my hands, taking gasping breaths. Then he drove the remainder of his cock deep inside my tight channel, his hand squeezing my neck.

A rush of emotions mixed with another tingling flash of pain, a feeling of being full dashing through my system. He pulled out, plunging into me again and suddenly the discomfort faded away, leaving only a beautiful series of vibrations.

He smacked his hand against my bottom twice more before his actions became more brutal, driving into me like a crazed man. The force shifted me into the bed, the power of his muscles driving the headboard into the wall. He didn’t stop or slow down, fucking me relentlessly, every sound he made a guttural growl.

I couldn’t believe I was enjoying his brutal actions, but the electricity coursing through me was exciting, more so than the other times we’d been together. I felt myself releasing all the tension that had built inside, allowing the glow of our coupling to release endorphins. This was an absolutely perfect moment.

Seconds later, I sensed he was ready to come, filling my ass with his seed. A smile still on my face, I squeezed my muscles, feeling both the warm rush of his cum as well as a jolt of current that seared every nerve ending.

Then I heard his possessive roar.

As he curled his body around mine, intertwining our fingers together once again, he pressed kisses against my heated cheek, and I heard his whispered words that I’d dreamed of late into the night.

“This is just the beginning, baby. Forever mine.”

Yet as I heard thunder in the distance, a cold shiver slowly slid down the length of my spine. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew. The approaching storm was a telling statement.

Something very bad was about to happen.

CHAPTER21

Viper

I eyed Francesco as he paced the room, his actions reminding me of a lion cruising a cage. I expected him to lash out at any moment. I was exactly like him at nineteen, refusing to follow orders, acting as if I could conquer anything I set my mind to. We’d clashed more than once, the kid certain he not only deserved but could handle running the powerful organization that Max had inherited.

I knew better.

He was rash, brutal, and refused to accept advice. Just like I’d been. Hell, there were some who’d say I continued to be that way even after everything I’d been through. Maybe that’s why I’d made it a mission to take him under my wing.

I only hoped I wouldn’t regret it.

Remaining on the edge of my desk, I took a sip of my drink before easing it to the surface. The room was filled with men who killed for a living, their savagery well known throughout the boroughs of New York. However, while in my city, they would follow my command.

Stephen looked on skeptically, remaining in the background, observing their actions as I always did. Given the smirk on his face, I sensed his continued amusement. His experience with most of them had left him with a curious yet bad taste in his mouth.

Finally, Francesco couldn’t handle the lack of action any longer, shoving his hands into his pockets then storming toward me. He should know by now I didn’t handle physical confrontation well, usually reacting on instinct. At least this time, I’d prepared myself for his typical onslaught of passive-aggressive actions.

I noticed a flash of lightning outside the window, the indication a storm was approaching. While it was still several miles away, it added to the somber, ominous atmosphere as darkness fell across the city. I’d walked the estate myself with Stephen by my side, ensuring there wasn’t a single breach in security. Now we were at the final planning stages.

“What are the plans, Viper? By now, we should be on the streets, hunting the motherfucker responsible.” Francesco seemed cavalier.

I took a deep breath, already sick of his attitude. “We need to be cautious. Given we’ve yet to confirm Dante or his men have arrived in town, prudence is still the best method of handling our business.”

He laughed, shifting his gaze toward the five men he’d brought with him. There were those within the syndicate who’d remained loyal to Francesco, merely accepting the new regime that I had partial control over. At some point, more of them would be weeded out, new soldiers brought in, but neither Max nor I had felt the need.

Up to this point.

The task ahead of us might change both our attitudes. Only time would tell.

“Prudence? While you’re fucking some chick upstairs, there could be soldiers ready to storm your pretty little estate. Perhaps you should listen to what I have to say. I’ll make certain nothing happens.”

Insults rarely fazed me, but bringing Madisen into his damning words pissed me off. Not a single man had been prepared when my reflexes flared. I had my hand wrapped around his throat, slamming him against the wall, my other hand grabbing my weapon and pressing the barrel against his temple before anyone had managed to take a deep breath.
