“His name is Sean Doyle.”

Francesco laughed. “He’s some cousin of O’Rourke’s or a nephew or something. Did you know that?”

That I hadn’t heard. “That makes his arrival much more credible.”

“What the hell does the Irish fuck think he’s going to accomplish?”

I glanced toward Stephen. “That’s yet to be determined.”

He pushed himself away from the wall, glancing around the room before addressing the men. “Through the use of equipment developed by our team, Viper was able to install a listening device that cannot be detected by typical methods. At this point, Sean has called O’Rourke, letting him know Viper is aware he’s being watched. There’s been nothing else.”

“It’s something we need to discuss but not our main function. Dante Torino has every reason to want Madisen dead. That will not happen.” I kept a hint of anger in my tone.

“We got you, boss. We will protect her.” Gio had changed significantly in the year we’d been working together, his level of admiration increasing.

Francesco on the other hand was a loose cannon I’d need to watch. I shifted my gaze toward him as he walked forward with a drink in his hand.

“If Torino is in town, what then?” he asked.

I took a deep breath before answering. “Then we have a conversation with him. If he says or does the wrong things, then he faces the consequences.”

Francesco grinned. “In what way?”

The kid wanted me to spell it out given I had a Powers Security member in the room. I glanced in Francesco’s direction. “That means Las Vegas will soon be missing one of their own. Permanently.”

As the kid lifted his glass, I glanced at Stephen. While his eyes were open wider, he had a smile on his face.

“Final note. Stephen is in charge of communications and security. We lock down for the night. When we’ve gathered all the information, then we strike. Stephen, have Ethan and Wally prepared to head to the compound after the conclusion of today’s mission.”

He nodded, but I could tell he had something on his mind.

“What now?” Francesco snarked.

“Now, we wait.” I grabbed my drink, heading toward the door and down the hallway to the communications room. Madisen had chosen to remain in the bedroom for now, which at this point was a good idea.

Stephen followed me inside, glancing over his shoulder before heading toward the computer systems. “I didn’t want to say this in front of the other men, but Sean was cagey on the single phone call. He may be onto the fact he’s being recorded. Even if only by your recent visit.”

“Possibly but keep listening. As I said, I don’t like coincidences. I feel like I’m missing something.”

“Yeah, several nights of sleep. By the way, she smells good on you.” He backed away, a grin on his face.

Refusing to acknowledge his statement, I yanked out my phone. “Make certain the generator outside is operational. If we lose power in the storm, I don’t want the system down for even a few minutes.”

“Where is it?”

“Just outside the garage.”

“I’ll take care of it, but I’ll need to disable the security briefly.”

“Fine.”

“Okay. Then I’ll man the communication lines. Maybe I’ll make a phone call or two and see what I can find about Dante’s whereabouts.”

“Sounds good.”

“How’s the arm?”

“It hurts.” I chuckled.
