“Why do you need to do that when we're just getting started?" I ask, laughing as the shock fills his face, his mouth dropping open in surprise.

He throws the cloth across the room.

“I knew you were perfect,” he groans right before he claims my mouth.

Everything seems too perfect.

If this is a dream, please don’t let me wake up.Please…

Ryder

I look over at Tillie and find her staring at me. Immediately, heat rises on her face and her cheeks bloom with color. She looks back down at her plate, and I grin.

“What do you want to do for your day off today, Buttons?”

“Do?” she squeaks and there’s no mistaking what she’s thinking when she looks at me.

“I can’t take you again this soon, Tillie. I had no control last night. I should have stopped after the first time, but I couldn’t stop with just one taste. Ihadto have more.”

“Ryder,” she gasps, looking around the room to see who might be listening.

We’re at the local diner. I brought her here for breakfast because she needed groceries. I admit, I also did it because if we had stayed in her apartment where the bed wasrightthere, I wouldn’t have been able to keep from claiming her again.

“No one can hear me, Buttons.”

She sighs, shaking her head. “Are you trying to embarrass me?” she asks.

“Nope,” I deny at once. “I’m trying to see what my woman wants to do today. I have to go back to Dallas soon and until that happens, I want to spend every second with you.”

“Shouldn’t you spend at least some of it visiting your family?”

“Hmm… my smelly brothers or my woman’s sweet, tight, wet—” She slaps her hand over my mouth before I can say the word pussy, making me laugh out loud. God, she’s fun to tease.

“Ryder,” she huffs, her cheeks still pink, but I think her anger is taking over for the embarrassment.Either way, it’s still hot.

“You’re so fucking beautiful, Buttons.”

“Stop…” she says but I can see the pleasure on her face.

“Why? I’m just being honest. You’re gorgeous.”

“You almost make me believe you feel that way.” She’s studying my face and she looks thoughtful.

“Almost? How could you doubt it after what we’ve shared?” I ask confused.

“I… uh…”

“Tillie. You weren’t a virgin. You know what we shared was special. You had to feel that and tell the difference.”

“I don’t think we should be talking about this here,” she mumbles.

“I think we need to talk about this because it affects what we’re building together.”

“What do you mean, tell the difference?” she asks, making me frown.

Shit. Am I wrong about how she feels about me?

“Fuck,” I growl.
