“Ryder, I miss you like crazy, too, but I have responsibilities in Wyoming. I can’t just move here.”

“Bullshit. Tillie we’re not using birth control. Are you going to have my baby while you’re states away from me? This is just not practical. We’re a couple. We need to be together.”

“Uh…I’m on the pill. You never truly asked, so I figured you took it for granted.

“You want babies. You wantmybabies.”

I pull back so I can look down at him. “Neither one of us is ready for that, Ryder, and you know it.”

“I don’t agree.”

“Well, I’m staying on the pill.”

He frowns up at me and grumpily gives in. “Fine.”

“Gee thanks.”

“It still doesn’t change things. My main point is that you need me, and I need you. We’re building a life together.”

“Ryder…”

“When I say that, I mean we’re going to be looking for a house and a place to raise those three kids you want—”

“I’m pretty sure I said two,” I correct him, feeling as if my heart is going to pound out of my chest.

“You said three if we had two boys first,” he reminds me.

“That’s a big if, honey.”

“I read somewhere that it’s the men who decide the sex of the baby, so I’ve devised a plan.”

“A plan?” I laugh.

“I’m going to talk to my swimmers and make sure we have boys first.”

I look down at his face and he’s so earnest that I shake my head, unable to do anything but laugh. “I think you’ve gone insane.”

“Not having you near has driven me to that, but in this, I’m serious. Tillie, I’m crazy over you. You need to stop fighting this because the two of us are going the distance.”

I reach down and gently touch the side of his face. “You mean it.”

“Of course, I fucking do. What we have is the kind of thing that lasts forever, baby. I’m not letting you go. You need to move here so we can start our lives together.”

I bite my lip as I look down at him. “Um…Maybe we could slow down to the legal driving limit of fifty-five instead of one hundred.”

“Most of the roads here are sixty-five, Buttons.”

“Okay, then. Sixty-five is still better than a hundred.”

“Not for me,” he says with a cocky smile on his face.

“Ryder,” I groan.

“I’m going to love you so good you’ll be begging me to go faster, Tilda Mae Carter,” he promises.

My heart flip flops in my chest. Ryder Monroe used the word love. Before I can recover from that, he stretches up, while wrapping his hand around my neck and pulling me down. Our lips connect and his tongue thrusts into my mouth claiming me just like he’s already claimed my heart. I don’t even try to hold back. I lose myself in his kiss and his words.

Not even caring that he used my full name.
