“I haven’t.”

I wanted them to enjoy the rest of their night. This wasn’t about me. It was their wedding, and I didn’t want them to remember the whiny girl who took up their time.

“Okay, I’ll leave you two alone. Congratulations again.”

They smiled, embracin’ one another before I turned and left. Goin’ to find the boy who confused me the most.

Grabbin’ my purse from the back of my chair, I went around lookin’ for him.

“Have you seen Jackson?” I asked Jagger, who was standin’ by Cash.

He shook his head no.

“Last time I saw him he was goin’ down to the beach,” Cash answered, noddin’ behind me toward the direction I just came from. “Why you lookin’ for him?”

“No reason.”

“Cash, you dance wif me!” Journey intervened, grabbin’ his hands.

“I danced with you five times already.”

“Again,” she giggled, lookin’ up at him like he was her everythin’. Makin’ all of us laugh.

“Okay. Let’s go dance.”

She beamed as he led her toward the dance floor. Once they were there, he twirled her around, and then placed her on his shoes.

I watched them dance, while I talked to Jagger for a bit. Only thinkin’ about Jackson Pierce. We laughed our asses off when Shiloh threw a drink in Trigger’s face.

“What’s that about?”

“Who knows with them. I’m gonna go look for your brother.”

“Good luck.”

Ten minutes later and still no sign of him. I decided to go toward the pier instead, knowin’ it was one of his favorite spots. Takin’ off my heels, I made my way in that direction.

What would I say to him when I found him?

Should I tell him what Camila and I talked about?

Would he be receptive?

Push me away?

Be mean to me?

Should I give him what I always carried with me in my purse?

The list of questions was never ending.

I rounded the corner, seein’ him up ahead.

There he is!

Rushin’ toward him, I was about to call out his name, when I abruptly stopped dead in my tracks. All the blood drained from my face, and my stomach dropped to the sand.

My heart.
