Dropping his head, he blows out a frustrated breath. “Let’s call in sick and spend the day in bed.”

The sheet covering my body slips down. Finn zeros in on my breasts. His tongue licks over my nipple. Biting my lip, I squeeze my eyes shut, enjoying the heat bursting through my body. I pull my mind out of the lust haze that’s clouding it. “We can’t. Well…Ican’t.”

He travels to my other nipple and sucks it into his mouth, his tongue twirling around it. God, it’s hard to concentrate while he’s making my body hum.

“I’m your boss. I’m demanding you take the day off.” His hand slides between our bodies and heads south. I know what he’s aiming for.

Wet heat pools between my legs, but I can’t let him continue or I’ll never get to work on time. I clamp onto his wrist, stopping him from going any further. “Finn. Stop.”

Finn pulls his hand away and drops his head on my shoulder. “We’re picking this back up tonight.” His hot breath fans my neck, sending goosebumps over my skin.

“Okay.” Like I’d say no.

He finishes dressing, and I enjoy watching every movement. This man is mine. I want to scream with happiness! Not in a million years did I believe Finn would want me back. My heart wished for it, but it was only a distant dream. A dream that has come true. Now, I’m not rushing out to pick a wedding dress; I know we have a long way to go. But hearing him tell me he wants us were the best words I’d heard in years. We’re heading in the right direction. Happiness wants to burst from my body.

After all the amazing orgasms Finn gave me until the early hours of the morning, my body is too languid to move right now. He bends over me and gives me a kiss that makes my toes curl. Making me rethink Finn’s idea of calling in sick.

“See you at work after my meeting.” He smiles.

All I’m able to do is give him a finger wave.

He chuckles, clearly knowing he’s turned my body and mind into mush.

I don’t have the luxury to lounge around all morning, and I drag myself from bed. After a quick shower, I dress and head into the living room to leave for work. Alyssa has her feet propped up on the coffee table with foam separators between her toes, painting her nails black.

“Do you ever wear any other color?” The black polish matches the black cargo pants and black crop top she’s wearing. Add the chunky biker boots she favors, and she looks like she would be more comfortable on a motorcycle than on stage in pink tights and a tutu.

“Nope,” she says, brushing on another coat. “So…your ex stayed the night. What’s going on? Well, apart from the mind-blowing sex you were having.”

My face heats. “You heard us?”

Alyssa blows at her toes. “I think the apartment block across the street heard you.”

I slap my hands on my fiery face. “Oh God. How embarrassing!”

Alyssa waves the brush in the air. Small drops of black polish splatters on the already stained coffee table. “Don’t worry. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I didn’t hear much. I’m only teasing you.”

I sag with relief. Although, I’m still horrified she heard even a second.

“Are you and Finn back together? The last time we spoke, he didn’t want to have anything to do with you. Though you looked pretty happy together the other night when I hurt my ankle and he carried me like a superhero into my bedroom.” Concern lines her face. “I hope he isn’t using you.” With Alyssa’s late working hours and busy dance schedule, we keep missing each other lately, and I need to catch her up on the past couple of days.

“We’ve talked and spent some time together. He wants to be more than friends.” My heart flutters. I still can’t believe he’s forgiven me.

“Really?” Alyssa doesn’t look convinced. “He said that?”

“Yes. He wants to put the past behind us and move on.”

Alyssa fans a magazine above her feet. “You believe him?”

“Yes. Is there a reason I shouldn’t?”

“No. I’m just worried that it’s all happening so quickly. Didn’t you say he’s going back to London soon? What happens then? Is he moving on with you only while he’s here, then it’s over when he goes back?”

I sink onto the arm of the sofa. “We haven’t discussed that.” Surely, when he said he wanted ‘us’ he meant wherever he is.

“I’d hate for you to fall back in love with him and then he leaves you in limbo. Oh crap…” Alyssa stops fanning her toes and drops the magazine on the table. “You already love him.”

“I never stopped.”
