Her mouth flickered with a thousand smiles before she leaned down and picked up a piece of red sea glass from the sand. “Like this?”

He walked over to her. “No,” he said, taking her hand and putting it over his heart. “Greater. Greater than any sunken Spanish galleon off the coast of Ireland. Greater than even the fountain of youth.”

Her chest rose and fell with a massive breath before she shook her head. “Liam O’Hanlon, I don’t know whether you’re my soulmate, but you certainly are something to me. So…”

She went all attitude suddenly, arching her dark brows, which made him start to smile.

“Are you going to kiss me after that or what?”

Yeah, he was definitely going to kiss her. He waited a beat to see if she was going to close her eyes. But she just kept watching him, her longing and vulnerability obvious. “Come here,a stór.”

She gestured to herself. “I’m right here.”

Oh, she was magnificent. “Closer, Taylor.”So close I can feel your heart next to mine.

One step forward, and she was pressed against him. Her breath rushed out as one of his hands cupped her hip and the other cupped the side of her face. He looked deep into her eyes a beat longer. There was still vulnerability there, yes, but curiosity too. In his own eyes, he imagined she could behold the love he already felt as well as the amusement and desire.

Lowering his head, he paused right above her lips, feeling her breath rush out in anticipation. He hadn’t even kissed her yet, and still, he felt her energy rising to meet his. He was smiling as his mouth finally touched hers. She rocked back from the force of it, but he was ready. His hand tightened on her hip, bringing her back to him. His feet were steady under him as he caressed her lips lightly at first, fighting the urge to go deeper. Then she grabbed the back of his head, her fingers tangling into his hair, and devoured him with her mouth.

He pressed her closer, feeling the long, lean lines of her body against his own heated frame. The connection of their mouths was bliss, but soon he wanted a deeper connection. He put his heart into that kiss and knew when she felt it reach her own heart. She gasped against his lips, but then she moaned and sought his mouth, frantically kissing him until he caressed her cheek to settle her down.

He knew what she wanted, and it wasn’t just a kiss. Slowing the movement of their mouths, he concentrated on helping her feel the energy of his heart. In every angle, in every way.

When she finally pressed back and lowered her head to his chest, he hugged her to him.

“Well, thattreasurestuff sure had its effect.” Her exhalation was audible as the waves crashed against the shore. “That was one heck of a kiss.”

He kissed the top of her head. “And we’ve only just begun.”

She met his gaze then, her eyes dancing. “Now that has me thinking about sex.”

Chuckling, he took her hand. “Good. You ready for that ice cream?”

She swung his hand as they walked back toward the bike. “Emotional. Intense. Comforting. Passionate. And trustworthy. I’m really starting to like you, Liam O’Hanlon.”

He shot her a grin. “Being my soulmate and all, you’d have a tough time resisting me.”

Snorting, she tossed him his coat and his helmet before grabbing hers. “Maybe I don’t want to. Maybe I’m tired of being so careful. Maybe I want to believe it. Even if it seems crazy.”

He knew it was more than that. She wanted to let him in all the way. He didn’t know everything about her yet, but he did know she’d been a lone wolf, used to going about things on her own. Their bond was changing all that. Not that he was going to say so. “So how are we going to take down Malcolm?”

The grin she was giving him was one he’d remember on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Because it told him that she’d accepted him as her true partner. “With my old playbook, of course. If you’re in…”

Like he would turn around and say no. “I have ladders.”

“Aren’t you handy?” She batted her eyelashes at him. “I’ll need a few hours to finalize my design—so my idea to have a drink and meet everyone at the pub is out—but I think we need to strike while the iron’s hot. The media’s interested since Ghislaine just put out a press release along with a link to the video of me on the road. Tonight?”

“As you wish.” He gestured to himself. “I’m yours. Day and night.”

She fanned herself. “Well, that’s hot.”

“Good to know,” he said with a grin.

“We’ll need more paint.” She mimicked spraying paint. “And a wall.”

He could already see the wheels turning. “I know just the place.”
