She stared at the older woman as she pushed her blond hair over her shoulder. “You believe in all of that too?”

Her wedding ring sparkled when she held out her hand. “I’m here because of Sorcha. I stayed because of Donal. Yes, I believe. Besides, when you’re together, you seem like you’ve already been together for twenty years. Locked in. Complete. It’s a powerful feeling, isn’t it?”

Hearing that one of the most sought after publicists in the business had fallen into the same proverbial hole in the Universe made her feel better somehow. “The craziest.”

“Which is why I’m ending all your interviews by six today and bumping the West Coast ones to tomorrow.” She gave a cheeky smile. “Besides, Donal is waiting for me as well, and that is something I don’t plan on missing. Are you coming?”

Taylor ran after her to their next interview in the media room.

And so it went.

Liam was cooking dinner for her when she dragged herself home. She kicked off her heels next to his work boots—loving that addition to her life—and headed toward the spicy smell. “Honey, I’m home.”

“So you are,” he said, looking over his shoulder from the stove and giving her a killer smile.

Just like that, her lady parts started sizzling like whatever he was frying in the pan. This was her new life? The only thing missing was the sex, which made her want to fan herself. God, it was going to be so good when they got to it.

“You’re a bit pale, but my fabulous lamb curry will warm you up just right.”

“Oh, don’t worry,” she assured him in a flirtatious tone, “I’m starting to heat up pretty good seeing you here.”

“Domestic duties make you hot, I’ve realized.” The rumble of his laughter made her knees weak. “You were practically flushed thinking about me taking out the garbage and battling insects for you. Now… Beer or wine? I asked Linc if I could filch a bottle from his wine cellar. He has the best selection in town.”

“Wine, please!” She sank into a chair at the kitchen table where she could still see him. He had on the same outfit of worn jeans and a pullover that made her drool.

“I’m glad you don’t mind me making myself at home,” he said, tapping the wooden spoon on the side of a pan she hadn’t known she had and reaching for the bottle of red wine on the counter.

“I gave you my second key at lunch, remember? I did it around lunch so it wouldn’t seem like such a colossal deal.”

“I know.”

Of course. “Mind reader!” she accused playfully. “Also, Ghislaine is fully on the soulmates train. She nearly knocked me over when she told me she’d come to Ireland because of Sorcha and then hung around because of Donal, all the while flashing her wedding ring.”

His chuckle sounded as he popped the cork.

“You do know that most people would think we’re in a cult and drinking red Kool-Aid, talking like this.” She rose because she wanted to be closer to him.

“They’ve clearly never been to Ireland then,” Liam only responded, handing her a glass of wine and then pouring himself one. “You do know we have the largest matchmaking festival in the world, right? Lisdoonvarna is only a couple of hours away.”

She sipped her wine and then lurched forward and kissed his cheek. “Thanks, and yes, I’ve heard of it. Only…I didn’t read about it being run by a ghost.”

He settled back against the counter, his mouth twitching. “I’ll bet there are plenty of ghosts helping the organizers. Taylor, this is Ireland. And was that supposed to be a welcome home kiss? Because I think we can do better.”

She bobbled her wine, making it almost slosh over the rim. “We can?”

He took her glass and set it down next to his. His green eyes were warm and bright as he pulled her to him. The first brush of his mouth had her moaning softly. God, she really was easy, but she didn’t care. No one’s arms had ever felt so right. She locked her arms around his neck and dove in to pure bliss as their mouths met and merged. Her eyes closed, her heartbeat pounded, and for the first time in her life she had the experience of her toes curling.

“If that was a welcome home kiss, sign me up,” she managed, her breath coming out shakily.

“I missed you today,” he answered, cupping her cheek and staring into her eyes.

God, he was going to make her mush. This confession deserved an honest response. “I missed you too. How is that possible? I kept looking out the windows of the arts center when I had a break, hoping to see you.”

“Linc had me meet with the construction company we hired to build the hotel,” he answered. “He wants to break ground a little faster than we’d planned since Tom has the final design for the museum ready earlier than expected. We need to find another construction firm because our number one pick can’t handle two projects this big at once.”

“He wants to start building fast because of Malcolm.”

“It isn’t because of the weather.” He kissed her again. “How about we give that subject a rest? You want to talk about your interviews?”
