“What are you making?” Sebastian asked curiously, peering at the items that Will had set up on the bench. There were a bunch of baking supplies along with a mixer that was dirty and had a thick white mixture in the bowl, a roast pan, and something that looked like a cake tin… except it had foil around it. Sebastian wondered what he was doing.

“Cheesecake.” Will leaned back, looking down at Sebastian with a curious gaze. “Why did Jericho leave you here alone? I thought he had to be stuck to you.”

“He has been,” Sebastian said with a surly frown. Jericho had been dogging his every step all day, and it wasn’t as annoying as it should have been, which was annoying in and of itself. The constant innuendos all day had left him hot and flustered, with no payoff, and Jericho and Caleb had circled each other like angry alley cats, which had been great for his blood pressure. He was looking forward to when this was over, and Jericho could give him some space. “He said he had an errand to run, so I got transferred.” He hadn’t asked, because he wasn’t sure he wanted to know. The details of Jericho’s job were precarious at best. Sometimes not knowing was the lesser evil.

“To me?” Will asked, his smile widening in pure delight. Sebastian’s pulse jumped. “Am I on babysitting duty?”

“That’s real cute.”

Will hummed in amusement, his joy pure sunlight. He picked up the spatula and then scraped the white substance from the bowl into the cake tin that was lined with what looked like a biscuit crust. He flattened it carefully and then grabbed the kettle. He poured the boiling water around the cake tin. “Can you get the oven door for me?”

Sebastian moved around him and did as he was asked. “I thought cheesecake goes in the fridge?” He couldn’t recall ever putting it in an oven.

“New York cheesecake,” Will explained. “You bake it.” Once it was in and the oven door was closed again, he stared at the array of dirty dishes around them. “If I wash, will you dry?”

“Uh… sure?” Sebastian couldn’t remember the last time he’d dried dishes. He had a dishwasher, and if he got around to doing dishes, he let them drip dry. It wasn’t as often as he should, but his cleaner, who he was only half convinced wasn’t fae, kept his house pristine.

It wasn’t like there was an art to it. He couldn’t fuck up drying dishes… he hoped. That would be one hell of a way to show his incompetency.

“Tea towels are in the bottom drawer,” Will said, pointing before he filled the sink.

Sebastian rolled up his jacket and shirt sleeves to his elbows, making sure they were secured properly and wouldn’t fall back down, before he bent and got a towel out. “Why are you making a cheesecake?” he asked.

“Why not?”

Which was… Yeah. Sometimes Sebastian forgot what it was like to do something just for the fun of it. Everything in his life was so calculated and planned down to the last detail. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d baked a dessert just because. If he ever had.

Definitely not as an adult. If he’d done it as a teenager, it was because they’d had enough money that week to buy a packet cake, and he’d done it to put a smile on his siblings’ faces. He’d hoarded money in order to get them a gift for their birthday and a cake. Luxuries that most took for granted.

“And we have strawberries in the fridge that need to be eaten. I’ll cut them up and put them on top when I’m done.”

“I didn’t know you baked,” Sebastian said. He kept up with Will as he washed, drying everything and placing each item on the bench to be put away afterward. He had no idea where everything went, so he figured the best bet would be to do it after, with Will’s guidance. He wanted to know where everything went, liked the idea of being familiar with their home. More even than his own. It was about who, not about where.

“I like eating the dessert, so being able to make it is a bonus,” Will said with a laugh. “Peyton’s favourite is vanilla cheesecake. New York style.”

Ah. Sebastian nodded knowingly. “And what’s yours?”

“My what?”

“Your favourite dessert.”

Will put the last bowl on the rack and pulled the plug. He stepped close to Sebastian and used the bottom of the tea towel to dry his hands. Sebastian hooked a finger in Will’s pants and tugged him closer. Will bent, his lips hovering over Sebastian’s.

“Chocolate ripple cake,” he whispered.

“Good choice.” Sebastian tilted his head, closing the distance between them. Will snuck his tongue into Sebastian’s mouth as he pushed him against the edge of the counter. The tea towel was forgotten as Sebastian reached up and twined his arms around Will’s neck.

Will dragged his own shirt up and over his head, tossing it away. He was back to devouring Sebastian’s mouth within seconds. Sebastian cupped Will’s cheeks and used the hold to get him at a better angle, taking control of the kiss. The height difference wasn’t as large as with Peyton and Will, but it still meant he needed to get a little creative at times. He was more than willing to work with that.

He pushed back and slowly walked Will through the apartment. Neither of them was willing to let go. They ran into a dining chair, then the couch, and a wall before they finally ventured into the hallway.

By some miracle they managed to get to the nearest bedroom—Sebastian had no idea if it was Will or Peyton’s room. He couldn’t remember. He didn’t care. Hell, it could have been Peyton’s twin’s room, and he wouldn’t have cared. He wasn’t going any further to get Will the rest of the way naked. Sheets could be washed, memories erased.

He tugged at Will’s belt as they stumbled into the room. He got it open just enough to shove his pants down. Will dragged him back up for a kiss even as he wriggled and awkwardly kicked them off. He should have been wearing something easier. Sweatpants. Shorts. Boxers. Naked.

Naked should be a rule.

Will should have to be naked always, whenever he was at home. An excellent rule. The only rule that mattered. Sebastian would bring it up next time everyone was in the same room. It needed to be a universal rule that they all understood: Will, naked, always.
