I bite my lower lip, trying not to grin, my heart flapping invisible wings.

Archer shifts onto his side, propping himself on his elbow, pulling me toward him with his arm snaking around my waist.

“This is it,” he says, his eyes roaming my face.

He smiles. I smile, my skin crinkling from dry tears. We’re ridiculous.

I lift my hand to brush the back of my fingers against his cheek, the way he does to me.

“Boyfriend…” I murmur dreamily and then repeat it in my head like I want to get a taste of it. I thought he was kicking me off the island, and now this—us. Thereisan us.

“You are so screwed, kitten. You have no idea.”

The best news ever.

“Good thing I like being screwed by you,” I say cheekily before our smiles meet in a kiss.

Aaaaaand, we are back!

I break the kiss to whisper in his ear, “Are you gonna fire me if I tell you that I don’t really care about the job?” I nibble on his ear, inhaling his scent. “Just you, Arch. All I care about now is you.”

I kiss his neck, but he gently tugs at my hair, pulling me away.

“Kat, look at me.”

“Nuh-huh,” I murmur, trying to bury my face in his neck, embarrassed at what I just said. That sweet liquor is some wicked truth serum. I feel like I just spilled classified material.

Archer’s movement is quick and overpowering when he flips me onto my back and pins my hands above my head. There’s nowhere to look but him. My heart pumps heavily as Archer’s lips stretch in a smile that’s not cocky for once but happy, his lips parting to say something, but he doesn’t. He knows better than to taunt me in moments like this.

Instead, he sags against me, his hard chest against my breasts, his strong thighs between mine, and kisses me.

We kiss for the longest time. It’s our first time opening up, even if only in this way. I free my hands and run them along his muscular body, letting myself touch him for myself, absently, feeling him under my fingertips rather than deliberately calculating the touch to turn him on.

I’ve watched Archer for months, learning his every move and gesture. Right now, I learn him through the way his body responds to mine. The way he deepens the kiss when my hand glides over his cock that’s hard again. My guy is hard everywhere.

MyArcher.

I slide one hand up his torso and into his hair, tugging at it. I can’t get enough of his smooth skin and hard muscles. I’ve taken it for granted before. Now, every minute feels like I might lose him again—it’s emotional PTSD.

His tongue swirls around mine in deep strokes. This guy is a perfect kisser. When he takes his time, he can probably make me come just by doing these soft velvety licks into my mouth.

Every time he pulls just slightly away, my heart jolts at the thought that he’ll leave. And when we finally break apart, I don’t take my hands off him.

“I like kissing you,” I say.

He brushes his thumb against my lips. “I told you I love your lips.”

I love his confessions, but they make me too vulnerable. “Your phone was going off the hook. Better check it,” I say to change the topic.

His chest shakes in a silent chuckle. “Emergency alert.”

My smile is gone. “For what?” Like we don’t have enough emergencies on Zion.

“For your heart rate.”

What? It must be some kind of joke because Archer is grinning, that familiar devilish sparkle in his eyes.

“I have a vitals alert activated on an app and connected to your Ayana bracelet that tracks your health.”
