Rainer raised an eyebrow. “Changing the subject to planning for the future. I never thought I’d see the day.”

“Well, you must be rubbing off on me.” Then, realizing what she’d said, “I mean, your attitude must be rubbing off on me.”

God fucking damn it I would love you to rub off on me.

If Rainer could hear what was going on in her brain, she’d be smacked constantly. Which didn’t actually sound that bad…

“Don’t worry, Little one, I know what you meant. Well, this morning we’re going to be writing up a daily routine, and a set of rules, to help you take back control.”

“Sounds good.”

He took a sip of his coffee. “Now, I know you’ve been relying on your streaming for income. Not a bad way to live, even if there are downsides.”

“You mean the whole stalker issue?” She absentmindedly twirled her hair around her finger.

“Yes. That’s exactly what I mean. I’m not the biggest fan of streaming for that reason. But, if it’s what you want to do, then I’ll support you one hundred percent.”

She couldn’t help but feel her heart flutter in her chest. It had been so long since someone — anyone — had taken this much interest in her life. It made her feel unbelievably cared for. It also made her feel kinda like she didn’t deserve it.

“If you decide you do want to pursue streaming as a career, I’ll work with you to make sure you’re safe. Then you won’t need to worry about guys turning up at your doorstep, demanding personal tarot readings.”

“That would be nice.”

“But I also get the feeling that maybe, if you could, there’s something else you’d rather be doing.”

Well, he was entirely right.

“Maybe.”

“So tell me. If you could do anything in the world, anything at all, what would you do?”

She didn’t miss a beat. “Chocolate tester.”

Rainer let out a deep laugh that was so resonant it tickled her tummy. “I deserved that. Okay, let me rephrase the question. If you could pick anyrealisticcareer, what would you pick?”

“Yoga instructor.”

“Thanks for your honesty. Don’t worry, if you want, you can be an amateur chocolate tester.”

“Really?”

“Course. It’s a Daddy’s responsibility to make his Little girl’s dreams come true. I’ll hook you up with some rare candies to wrap those luscious lips around. We can come up with a scoring sheet, too.”

“Ooohhh, a candy scoring sheet! All my friends told me not to date a biker, and now I know why.” She was teasing, but there was a thrill to it. Theyweredating, weren’t they? They’d still only kissed the once, and even though she ached for him, it felt like they had a long road ahead of them.

“Right. It’s all guns, drugs, and candies with us assholes,” he joked. Then, he took out a sheet of paper. “So, it’s time. We’re gonna make a plan that’s gonna craft you into a yoga instructor.”

She bit her lip and wrung her hands together. “What if I just can’t do it? What if I can’t overcome my fear?”

“Honey, I believe in you, but I’m not going to force you to do anything you don’t want to do. My feeling is that you’re gonna rise to the challenge. But if you decide that it’s too scary, and that it’s doing you more harm than good, then Ipromisewe’ll revisit this plan. The last thing I want to do is cause you distress. Understand?”

She nodded.

“Good.” He pulled the cap off the pen. “Now, let’s get planning!”

It was a daunting schedule.

“I’ve never tried anything like this. Not since school.”
