“Sorry,” Esme said. “Are you hurt?”

Esme was being very brave by coming out to talk to Dog, Rainer noticed. She hadn’t been too happy about what Dog had said about Littles attending official club meetings. Rainer had thought a lot about the rule. He could totally understand why other MCs had to have member-exclusive meetings. But when Littles were involved, it would be irresponsible to ban them from attending.

“Not too bad thanks, Little one.” There was something forced about the way he said that, almost as if the phrase ‘Little one’ got stuck in his throat. “Didn’t know you two were so serious.” Dog raised an eyebrow.

“She’s mine,” Rainer said, not hesitating for an instant. He saw Esme’s cheeks change to a bright shade of pink and for a moment he regretted saying it. He hoped he hadn’t embarrassed her too much. “And I’m hers. I’d destroy anyone who got in the way of what we have.” The strength of conviction surprised him, but he couldn’t stop himself.

“Happy for you,” said Dog. It was a smile, but there was more than pure happiness behind it. “So, is your Little one heading out?”

“Daddy, are you going to be a while with Mister Dog?”

“Probably,” Rainer admitted. He at least wanted to talk Dog through the issues his bike had, and — hopefully — convince him to take it to another garage. Maybe giving him a lecture about drunk-driving while he was at it.

“Okay, um I think in that case I better get going. I kinda forgot all about it because—” more, intense blushing, “— um, I thought I’d be at my place this morning, but I have a yoga class. It’s a special one! I can’t miss it!”

“More yoga?” It was Rainer’s turn for his cheeks to burn. Hopefully, Esme would keep their little secret to herself.

“Mmhmm. No such thing as too much yoga.”

Fuck. He was gonna miss her. But it was fair enough that she was leaving. He’d been the one to change the plan.

“Alright, sugarplum. You make sure to text me when you get there safe, though.”

“Of course, Daddy. I’m a good girl.” She shot Dog a quick look and then leaned in to give Rainer a kiss goodbye. He felt her lips on his cheek, had just enough time to be reminded of her scent, and then, just as she was turning away, she whispered in his ear, in the quietest whisper he’d ever heard, “I’ll be thinking about your cock all day.”

Rainer tried not to look surprised and tried even harder not to look aroused.

“Alright, good girl. I’ll see you later.”

He stared at her ass unapologetically as she walked away.

“Right,” Rainer declared when she was gone, “let’s take a look at this poor hog.”

The bike talk didn’t last too long in the end. The hog was a mess. Fixing it was going to be expensive and time-consuming. Plus, Rainer didn’t have the correct parts for it in his garage, so would need to order them in.

“And that’s why,” Rainer said, after explaining how long it might take him to fix the bike, “you’re better off using another place.”

Dog shook his head. “Buddy, you’re the only guy in town I trust. I’ll wait. Keep the bike here until you’re ready to work on it. I’ll pay you fifty dollars a week just to store the damn thing for me. Then, when you get the time, fix her up. I’ve got a couple of spares. This one’s just my favorite.”

Rainer could see why. Harley Davidson did still occasionally make bikes like this, although they tended toward the sleeker, blacker, more intimidating bike styles. This was a 1971 Electra Glide — a shocking blue color, and handsome as Brad Pitt. It was painful to Rainer to see it in this state.

“Honestly, I c—”

“A hundred, then,”

Was he really going to turn down a hundred bucks a week to do nothing?

Rainer let out a deep sigh. “Fine. I’ll do the job. I just hate letting people down.”

“I know. That’s why you’d make a great MC Prez.”

This took Rainer by surprise. “You think so?”

“Sure. But I don’t stop until I get my way. That’s why I’d make an even better one.”

It was hot in the studio. Not just a little warm, not even slightly uncomfortably hot. No, this room was sweltering.
