I guess I’d just have to be constant and prove to him how seriously I took this.

“How big an undertaking were you thinking?” He looked at me skeptically.

“Now that we aren’t wasting our time avoiding one another and moping around? I want to go do something fun with you.” I emphasized the with, so he’d take the hint. “I want to enjoy our time and the possibility of acting normal. We don’t have to be Pale Pink Lips here. You don’t have to be Aspen Cole. We can just be.”

He looked at his plate and muttered, “I’d like that.”

I slid a finger under his chin, tilting his face up so he’d look at me. When he did, he searched my face, and I leaned in to brush my lips over his. “Why won’t you look at me?”

“I feel like the other shoe is going to drop. I’m worried.”

I smiled, ready to reassure him.

But before I could speak, he went on. “Why does me worrying make you smile?!”

I laughed, grabbing hold of his throat so he couldn’t back away like he was trying. “Because I find it adorable.”

He glared. “Adorable? I don’t want to be adorable.”

I smirked, enjoying the swing of his mood more than I probably should. “Why not? I like it.”

“Because adorable isn’t sexy.”

I dragged him forward. “It is to me. I like all the parts of you, and if you think I don’t know them well, you’re sorely mistaken. You can’t hide them from me now. So stop trying.”

He tilted his chin down, not resisting. “I’m not trying to fight you.” There was honesty in his eyes and tone.

I released him, slipping my hand around the back of his head to bring his mouth to mine. “We have to be on the same side.”

He smiled into my lips. “You’re kissing me in public.”

“I fucked you in public yesterday.”

“Not like this.” He closed his eyes, deepening the kiss.

My chest got tight. The softness in the way he whispered the words over my lips transformed me. I was different every day because of him, and I knew this was only the beginning.

“Do you have a problem with it?” I teased him, tightening my hand in his hair.

He harrumphed and bit my lip. My cock responded, and I had a halfy again.

“I’ll take that as a no.” I kissed him lightly, then pulled back, my heart expanding.

He chased my lips, but I kept him off with my grip on his hair.

“We are doing something, remember? Come on. I want to go ask what they have. Maybe if I’m not trying to reach Levi or the program director, I’ll have better luck.”

We stood in front of Luna, our concierge, a few minutes later with a variety of information about what the resort offered as part of the stay and what they approved at our level. Whatever that meant. There were boats and fishing, jet skis and the spa, four wheelers and snorkeling, kayaking and hiking.

Aspen flipped through their iPad full of images and then turned toward me. “What do you want to do?”

“I want you to pick.” I wouldn’t let him pawn the choice off on me.

He always went along with the things his brother and Taylor wanted to do. I knew he liked art galleries, but that was harder to come by, so I wanted to know what would draw him. It was a little selfish, but it didn’t stop me.

He searched my face then flipped back a few pages. “I want to hike to the waterfall.”

“One of our most popular attractions. I think you two will enjoy it…as long as six miles is okay.” The woman glanced between us.
