She grinned. Leave it to him to think of everything.
“Did you bring a robe, honey?” he asked.
“Sure.”
“Let’s get changed. We can drink on the balcony and look out over the sea.”
“Oh, that sounds wonderful,” she said as she slipped her dress off.
He came over and took her into his arms. After a slow, sensual kiss, he smiled at her. “Too bad you have to put something on to sit outside. I’d love you to go out just like this.”
She raised her eyebrows. “In my bra and panties?”
“Yep.” He gave her a devilish grin.
She smiled and shook her head. “Men.”
While she freshened up and changed into one of the sexy nighties she’d bought, she heard the loudpop!of the champagne bottle. It had been delivered quickly.
Cal was already out on the balcony when she left the bathroom. He wasn’t wearing a shirt and was only dressed in a pair of athletic shorts. She grinned. He really was serious about his wish.
She went outside and sat beside him. He’d already poured her a flute of champagne. He raised his glass. “To the best night of my life.”
That went straight to her heart, and her eyes filled with tears. “Aw, honey, you’re going to make me cry.”
He leaned toward her and gave her a gentle kiss. “I mean it, honey. Being here with you and starting our honeymoonisthe best night of my life. I love you, sweetheart.”
She moved over to sit on his lap and kissed him tenderly, taking her time and showing him with all her heart how much she loved him. When she drew back, she said, “You’re an amazing man, and I thank God that you came into my life, Cal.”
His hand found her breast, and his thumb caressed her nipple, sending tingles rippling across her chest. “Tonight we’ll take our time, honey. We have all night long to show each other our love.”
She smiled into his eyes. “You bet we will, cowboy, and I can’t wait.” She took a long swallow from her glass. “But first we’re going to enjoy our view and drink this champagne.” She kissed him again. “And have a lot more of those.”
“Oh, hell yeah!” he said with a grin.
An hour later, Cal picked up Vic and walked into the room. “Never say that I didn’t carry you over the threshold, darlin’.”
She laughed. “My knight in shining armor.”
“Damned straight.” He set her in the center of the king-sized bed. “It’s time for the good stuff.” He slid off his shorts and boxers.
She pulled him down for a kiss. “Finally.”
There was a brilliant moon shining in through the wall of windows. He shut the bedside lamp off and drew her over on top of him.
She quickly took off her black silk robe, leaving her clad in a bright red nightie. He cupped her breasts in his hands, feeling the weight of them in his palms. Every inch of Vic was gorgeous.
They wouldn’t be using condoms on this special night. Vic had said that she could feel her biological clock ticking, and that if she was going to have children, it was better to start right away. He’d been ecstatic.
She took her nightie off, and he drew in a breath. Her exquisite body, highlighted in light and shadow by the moon, was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. For a moment, her tiny thong panties were all that stood between him and her wet center. Then she took them off too.
