Crystal is always so nice, even when I barely know her. No wonder Penelope’s such good friends with her. I could use a little kindness right now.

I don’t know how I’m going to get home yet, but I’ll figure it out. I’d rather walk all the way back to Spine Ridge than face any of my friends looking like this.
With a sigh, I tuck my phone back into my pocket. Or at least, what’s left of it. Even if my pants and shirt are no longer whole, and my hair is soaked, and my face is covered with a mixture of cum and saliva … at least I’ll walk out of this grimy alley with my head held high.

Underneath my desk,I stare at the picture I took days ago, completely enamored by the girl I know should be my enemy.
She’s the daughter of the man in charge of Spine Ridge and sister of that obnoxious asshole Felix. Just the thought of seeing his fucking face on this campus makes me want to crush this phone with my bare hands.

Kai: Stop staring at your phone.
Me: I’ll do whatever I damn well want to.
Kai: You want the professor to kick you out? What are you even looking at?
Me: Her.
Kai: I never asked you to take pictures of her.
Me: You don’t have to ask. I’ll do it for free.
