“Which one is it?” I ask.
“Fifteen,” Nathan replies, swaying a bat in his hand.
“Here,” Kai says, grinning as he knocks on the door. “Ready?”
“More than ever,” Lana muses, fishing out her knives.
The second the dude opens the door, Lana stabs him in the arm and blocks him from closing the door by shoving a foot inside.
“FU—”
Kai shoves him inside, and we all barge in. “Hey, prick. You asked for a hookup? Here we are.”
“What the fuck?” the guy yelps when Lana rips her knife out.
I shut the door behind me.
“You thought I’d be a young girl?” Lana flips her hair over her shoulder. “Do I look convincing enough to play the part?”
In shock, the guy tumbles backward into his own sofa, screaming wildly.
God, I love watching her put up a cold-hearted show and destroying people with just a few words.
Kai snatches one of the towels off the kitchen rack and smothers his mouth. “Don’t want to wake the neighbors now, do we?”
I smile at him like a motherfucker before both Nathan and I knock out his knees in tandem.
CRACK!
The guy screams so harshly into the cloth that his eyeballs almost pop out.
“Pwease, pwease!” the guy begs. “It hurts!”
Lana rips his head up by his hair. “How many other girls did you convince to come here?”
“I don’t know,” he whimpers. “I’ve never—”
Kai shoves a knife underneath his throat. “Don’t. Lie.”
“It’s only been a couple. Five. Maybe six.”
Six girls. All used by this monster.
Kai’s jaw tightens, and he glances at Lana for a second before suddenly pushing the guy back. “We need something better than this.”
Nathan swings his bat over his shoulder. “Wait, are you going to—”
“Backpack.” Kai interrupts.
I hand it over to him, and he fishes out the syringe.
The guy’s eyes widen. “Oh God.”
“This will hurt,” Kai warns, and he shoves the needle into the guy’s neck before he can even so much as blink.
The scream that follows dies out in a few seconds.
“What are you doing?” Lana asks. “I thought we were gonna kill him. Not spare him the pain by knocking him out.”
