“The complication I mentioned before,” I tell Oscar, hoping I’m not making a big mistake. “I don’t just live with Harley. I live with three other men. We’re… we’re together.”

Oscar peers back at me. “Four men, huh?”

“Four,” I confirm, waiting for his judgment.

“Do you love these men equally?” Maude asks quietly, her expression impossible to decipher. “And do they love you?”

I don’t even have to think about it. “Yes. I do. And yes, they love me too.”

Maude glances at Oscar, and he glances at her, a smile twitching his lips. “Then I’d say there’s nothing complicated about it at all. Is there, Maude?”

She smiles back, turns to me, and says, “Not complicated at all. Bring them. We’d love to meet them.”

I’m silent on the drive to the Cerberus. It’s still too early for it to open, but Aden wants to extend the opening hours and serve light bites. Since it has a growing reputation for the best cocktails around, it makes sense we should capitalize on that interest instead of going into construction as Kade keeps suggesting.

I think part of his reasoning is I said I wanted to help out more, and none of them are happy about me waiting tables at night. They care, and sometimes they are a little overprotective, but their care—and love—is never claustrophobic. They always give me room to breathe.

After Harley parks outside and we climb out of his car, Dariel lets us in with a smile and a kiss for me before he nods at Harley and leads the way inside.

Kade is at the bar talking about a new moneymaking idea. He turns to wink at me, and I grin back. When he glares at Harley, I know he’s only doing it for show.

And the reason I know? I once went to the den and found them sitting side by side, absorbed watching a football game with a bowl of popcorn between them. When Kade noticed I was in the doorway watching them, he snarled at Harley about hogging the popcorn.

Although we all live together now, Harley included, we don’t all share a bed, unless they’re all wolves sleeping in a pile around me.

But that’s okay. Better than okay. What we have feels pretty perfect for all of us, and that’s the only thing that matters.

They do things without me as well. Like going for runs a couple of times a week as wolves while I hang out with Sam. I like to think they’re bonding during those runs.

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve fallen asleep under a pile of wolves, a surprisingly comfortable experience. It makes me feel safe, like no one and nothing can hurt me because I have my pack close.

I’ll often walk in on Harley and Dariel talking about doing more to the house. They’re thinking about putting a projector in the attic and turning the space into a game/movie room. That way it’s a place we can create happy memories instead of it being a place where Aden nearly died.

Sometimes, I’ll wake up to the sound of Aden and Harley laughing in the kitchen, and it always makes me smile to hear it.

It’s amazing to live in a house not just filled with love, but laughter too. We argue as well, as all packs probably do, but we try never to stay angry with each other for long. We’ve all lost so much that we don’t want to lose more time being angry with each other.

My eyes settle on Aden, who’s talking with Greg about some of the food options we could serve if we opened the Cerberus earlier.

Sam is sitting on the edge of the bar, giggling, and Detective Jake Morgan is standing in front of her. He’s blushing, so whatever she’s saying is filthy. I’m intrigued enough to make a mental note to ask her when we go shopping this weekend. When she winks at me, I know it must be so filthy I’m not sure I want to wait until this weekend to ask her.

“You want a drink, angel?” Kade calls across to me.

I shrug. “Soda water and lime?”

Kade nods and turns to the bar so Killian can make my drink for me. He carries it over to where I’m standing instead of having Killian do it. We’re both standing at the bar so it would make more sense for Killian to pass it to me, but I shrug it off as Kade being Kade.

I’ve lifted my glass to my lips, seconds away from downing the contents when I stop.

And stare.

“There’s a ring in my drink,” I tell everyone and no one.

“If you were to look closely, Jane, you might notice there are four small diamonds surrounding the center one.” Harley sounds like he’s grinning.

“Almost like the four diamonds areprotectingthe central one,” Aden adds. “You know, the way Cerberus guarded the gates of hell.”

“Cerberus only had three heads,” I say, unable to stop staring at the ring at the bottom of my glass.
