The fabric over my core was pulled tight, and was definitely damp.

Definitely.

He slid a possessive hand over the damp fabric, and my entire body throbbed.

This was new.

Really, really new.

And really, really good.

He squeezed my core, and I swear, I nearly orgasmed on the spot.

His chest rumbled again, and he gave me an animalistic growl. One word escaped him; the same word he’d said the first day we met, when he was insane in the Aboa.

“Mate.”

I loved his voice. I’d never told him that, because it seemed like a lot more than just a friendly thing to say. We were just friends, even though I wanted more. But I loved it.

“Yes,” I breathed, looking over my shoulder so I could see those gorgeous eyes of his.

But when my gaze collided with his, my body went still.

Because his eyes were glowing.

Not the way they had when he was insane because of his magic. This glow was dimmer, and more of a silvery-white glow than the blue of his insanity.

“You’re glowing,” I breathed.

He squeezed my core again, but whatever pleasure had been building was long gone.

This wasn’t even really Zoran.

I didn’t know why he was glowing or what he was possessed with, but he wasn’t touching me because he wanted to. It was something else.

“Back off,” I told him, voice shaking.

I really didn’t want him to stop.

I wanted him towant me.

But this wasn’t real.

He stroked my core with his whole hand, and my body clenched.

Maybe I wasn’t getting the memo about it not being real as much as I’d thought.

“Zoran,” I said, as he stroked me again and my body throbbed in response.

I really didn’t want him to stop.

His hand slid beneath the damp fabric covering me, and his hot fingers dragged over my slick, sensitive flesh.

So I panicked.

Not because I didn’t want him to keep going; holy shit, I really did.

But because I didn’t want him to regret it, or not remember it afterward. Because that would kill me.
