I don’t have to wait long. I’ve barely been back at my desk for an hour when Lucy bursts into my office. “Come to the kitchen,” she says urgently. “There’s a special report on Byte News about the firm!”

I follow her into the small room, which is crowded with staff – as well as Luc, Damien and Finn. We all watch in silence as one of the anchors runs down the list of ways Raven has been attempting to discredit and destroy Devil’s Advocates. She’s labeled a jealous, vengeful ex and, the anchor says, has already been dropped from several major campaigns.

“Yes!” Janice whoops, breaking the silence. A few other people cheer and break out into applause, and Lucy throws her arms around me.

“We’re safe!” she cries. I hug her back, then quickly look at Finn. He looks stunned but happy, and Luc is pumping his fist into the air.

Then we all hear it: the phones in the office have begun ringing. “I think I hear the sound of new clients,” Damien says happily. “Back to work, everyone!”

“You guys, I don’t know what to say.”

“Wow,” Luc says. “Damien Blackwell, at a loss for words?”

“Not when it comes to you,” Damien growls good-naturedly. Emma and I laugh, and Damien turns to us.

“Seriously.” He surprises me by taking Emma’s hand in his, and squeezing it. Then Damien does something that really shocks the hell out of me: he pulls me into a hug.

“What’s this for?” I ask, awkwardly returning his embrace.

“For saving the firm, Finn,” Damien says, releasing me and stepping back. “You and Emma are miracle workers.”

“We’re just happy that the firm is back on solid ground,” Emma says modestly.

“And then some,” Luc grins. “We’re revived and better than ever! Not only are our clients returning, but we’re on track to land a few new ones by the end of this week. And I hear that the phones have been ringing off the hook with potential new clients eager to learn more about the best firm in town.”

I grin. “Luc, maybe you should switch from law to marketing, or PR.”

“Ugh, no way,” he shudders. “I couldn’t handle the pay cut.”

“Honest as ever,” Damien says, shaking his head. “But Luc’s right. Our future is looking really, really good. And the two of you can take a lot of credit for that,” he says, looking from me to Emma.

I look at Emma, too. “Emma, we couldn’t have done any of this without you.”

“Thank you guys, really,” she says, glancing at all three of us. “Being appreciated like this – it means the world to me.”

“Good,” Damien says. “Then I hope that means you’re staying around for a while.”

“Of course!” Emma says. “I can’t imagine working anywhere better.”

I smile at her and take her hand. “And on that note, I’d like to take you out for a celebratory lunch.” I look back at my brothers. “I assume it’s okay if this is a long lunch?”

“You’ve both more than earned it,” Damien says.

As I hold open the door of Damien’s office for Emma to walk through, I catch Luc’s eyes. “Aw yeah, along lunch,” he says lasciviously. “Make it a hard one, too!”

I flip him off and he laughs.

Emma is quiet on the walk to the restaurant. When we sit down, she looks around at the large, sunlit room. “Finn, this is a beautiful place.”

“I’m glad you like it,” I smile. “It’s one of my favorites.”

When the waiter comes over, I ask for a bottle of their best champagne. Emma raises her eyebrows. “Drinking in the middle of a workday?”

“We don’t have to,” I say quickly. But she shakes her head and smiles.
