“Angela?”

I heard Dante call my name as I came down from my high.

He wrapped his arms around me and ran his fingers through my tangled hair.

“Dante, that was,” My voice trailed off as my sex-addled brain struggled to find the right words to describe what I just experienced.

“That was amazing!” I exclaimed with a slight laugh.

When Dante's eyes locked with mine, a soft smile played upon his lips, and I could sense the weight of his words hanging in the air.

"I love you," he murmured, his voice filled with tenderness and an unspoken promise.

In that instant, my heart swelled with a profound sense of joy and an overwhelming sense of certainty that our connection was deepening into something deeper than we had ever expected.

As Dante's heartfelt words hung in the air, my heart fluttered with affection, and with a soft smile, I met his gaze and whispered, "I love you too."

The declaration felt like a sacred revelation and I could feel the height of emotions that stirred within me.

In that instant, I knew that our love was a beautiful and undeniable truth.

Chapter 12

Dante

Sittinginmyofficein my company was none other than Vito and Kramaric.

The three of us were here to discuss the issue concerning Mr. Stefan and his sudden withdrawal from our partnership.

It was clear that there was more to this change in decision than what met the eye.

Vito was swirling his cup, filled with wine, while in deep contemplation.

Kramaric, on the other hand, was playing around with his switchblade.

I had already filled them in on what had happened a couple of days ago and what the representative had said.

We were meeting to discuss what our next steps were going to be.

“There’s no doubt that the excuses he gave are bullshit.” Vito sighed.

“Couldn’t he even at least lie properly? I feel somewhat offended that he didn’t even put any effort to come up with a partially believable excuse.”

Kramaric snorted. “If I have him kidnapped and brought in, tied up and gagged, how quickly do you think he will spill the truth?”

I watched, amused, as Vito scrunched his face in distaste at Kramaric.

“Must you always resort to violence?” Vito scoffed and downed his drink.

“And must you drink so early in the day?” Kramaric retorted with a cool gaze.

“We’re in the afternoon,” Vito replied without a care in the world.

“Same thing.” Kramaric gave Vito a side glance.

I silently observed as they effortlessly slipped into their familiar rhythm of banter and disagreement.

It never failed to captivate me, witnessing the dynamic dance of their bickering.
