My fingers slide inside her and start to thrust in rhythm against my tongue. Breaking away for a moment, my fingers still plunging in and out of her, I look into her eyes. “You taste so fucking good.”

Her lips part as she caresses her own nipples gently.

“Good girl, play with your breasts for me,” I demand, before returning between her thighs and sucking her clit forcefully.

“Fuck, Isiah!” she cries out, as she gets close. I increase the tempo of both my tongue and fingers, chasing her release. She screams out as she comes apart for me, a flood of arousal pooling at her entrance as I lap it up with abandon, desperate to consume her.

I pull away from her and smirk. “I made you come with at least a minute to spare,” I say, since her timer hasn’t gone off yet to signal the food is ready.

She looks up at me in awe, a mixture of pleasure and admiration in her eyes. “You weren’t lying,” she says breathlessly as I help her stand back up straight again.

“Of course not,” I say smugly as I take a seat on one of the chairs at the kitchen table, pulling Bella into my lap so that she is straddling me. “Now let’s eat.” I kiss her softly.

She tries to break away from me. “You’ll have to let go of me then, as the food is in the oven.”

“Hmm, I’m not sure I want to let go.”

“Isiah,” she says my name in irritation. “The food will burn.”

“Fine,” I say, releasing her hips and allowing her to jump off my lap and fetch her frittata out of the oven. It smells delicious and as I watch her place it on the counter, her cheeks flushed pink still from the climax I forced from her, I know that my life is so much better with her in it.

She dishes up two portions onto plates and passes me one. “Buon Appetito!”

“Grazie,” I say in response, earning me a smile that could light up the entire world. That’s what she does for me—she banishes away the darkness. I only wish that she could learn to love me despite the shadows in my soul.

BELLA

Itake a deep, shuddering breath and force myself into the elevator from the parking lot. My heart feels like a caged animal, pounding against its prison walls as I press the button for the tenth floor, where our apartment is. I’m on edge and have been all day, as the elevator rises.

The ding signals my arrival and I step out into the corridor. The tension in the air is palpable, seeping through the walls like a storm. Although, I knew it had nothing to do with the apartment block and everything to do with me.

Isiah will be carrying out his plan tonight—the one I agreed to without hesitation. He will take my father’s life, along with the lives of his monstrous accomplices, those who prey upon innocent children. He’s turning out to be a hero, saving Luciana from that predator of a man, James Wick. I know he killed him, as Luciana was inconsolable about it, saying she loved him.

How do you explain to a fifteen-year-old girl that what James Wick did was wrong? That it wasn’t love but manipulation and control. In time, she will get over it and one day she’ll find out what true love really feels like.

A part of me felt dead inside when I agreed to my dad’s murder—a part of me that still believes that all life is precious and valuable, even that of an abusive criminal like my father. But what Isiah uncovered was enough to make anyone want him gone and forgotten forever. His wickedness makes me sick—though my mother isn’t much better for allowing it to go on. But Isiah promises the rest of my family will be safe from harm. He’ll get his revenge tonight for Aiden’s death, and he’ll stop a monster in the process.

I push these thoughts aside and turn the corner to our apartment, coming face-to-face with the door. It has become a sight that usually fills me with excitement at seeing my husband, yet today everything feels different.

My heart beats faster as I approach it, unable to shake this sense of foreboding. I don’t know why, but something doesn’t feel right. I reach for the key in my pocket and place it in the door to find the door is already unlocked. My brow furrows, as it’s unlike Isiah to leave it unlocked, but perhaps his mind was elsewhere.

I push it open and step inside, placing my keys down on the console table. And that’s when I hear the click of a gun cocking, making me freeze in place as I glance toward the living room.

Three men are sitting on my couch, wearing masks, and each one has a gun pointed at me.

Perhaps I wasn’t being paranoid.

“What do you want?” I ask, my voice shaking.

The man in the middle signals for me to move forward. “Come here.”

I swallow hard, unsure whether I can actually bring myself to move forward. I’ve never been in this kind of situation before, despite being the daughter of a mob boss, but I manage to force my feet forward.

“Take a seat on the stool.” He points to the stool at the kitchen island.

I swallow hard and sit down. “Who are you?”
