I stare at her, rather than the fish, wondering how on earth I’ll ever bring myself to destroy her along with her family. She’s too perfect and all mine. Perhaps forcing her to remain chained to me for the rest of her life can serve as punishment. A twisted attempt at revenge. Her family, however, won’t get off so lightly.

“Isiah?”

I shake my head. “Sorry, what?”

“I said, do you know what that blue one is called?” She’s pointing into the ocean.

I follow where she’s pointing. “That’s a parrotfish.”

She tilts her head. “How do you know all these fish?”

I shrug. “I’ve got a good memory.” I’ve been told my memory is pretty much photographic. I think it’s given me an upper hand in the underbelly of London, as I never forget a face. Squeezing her hand, I pull her away from the edge. “Come on, I’m dying for a shower.”

It’s impossible to ignore the flash in her eyes at that comment, but I wasn’t even suggesting sex. Although, I wouldn’t complain. Bella and I fucked in three different locations across the island and yet she’s insatiable and so am I. The more I have her, the more I need her.

Fuck.

Need is such a dangerous word.

We walk into the villa and I head straight for the bedroom, throwing down my phone before unbuttoning my shirt.

As expected, Bella follows me, sitting down on the bed and staring at me expectantly. A part of me knows I need to shut this down before I’m irreversibly hooked on her.

“Do you want something, love?”

She licks her lips as I chuck my shirt down. “No, just watching.”

I laugh at that as she’s changed a hell of a lot on this trip. Slowly, I unbutton my trousers, keeping my eyes on her. And that’s when my cell phone makes a noise.

Bella grabs it and looks at the screen, brow furrowing. “Why is Cathal contacting you?”

I freeze, hoping that the idiot hasn’t texted me about Nina. “I don’t know.” Walking closer, I hold my hand. “Let me see.”

Bella’s eyes narrow as she jumps to her feet, taking a step back. “Tell me why you look guilty as hell.”

“I don’t. Now give me the phone.”

She shakes her head and rushes out of the room with the phone.

“Fuck’s sake,” I say, rushing after her.

She manages to get outside and shut the door, which locks automatically. And then I see her reading the text, her expression turning solemn. When I finally get it unlocked, her entire countenance has changed. Gone is the flirtatious and happy girl who had appeared during the days we’ve spent here.

“Give me the phone,” I demand.

Bella looks into my eyes and shakes her head. “How could you?”

I swallow the bile that is trying to rise in my throat at the utter despair in her brilliant blue eyes. “How could I do what?”

“Meddle in something you had no right meddling in!”

I can sense her despair is quickly turning to anger. “If you’re talking about Cathal and your sister, he asked me my opinion on her and I told him.”

She places the phone down on the table. “And what exactly is your opinion of her?”

“That she’d make a very difficult wife because of her condition.”

Bella starts forward. “Her condition?!”
